    What To Do

FYI..If you see an excursion that catches your fancy..go for it. But don't stay onboard ship. Cabo is easy to navagate

Cabo San Lucas was an easy walk (basically flat). We carried a small map but  found locals very helpfull.  We were able to find CaboWabo Cantina, El Squid, and for us a Harley Davidson dealer  etc. Just follow the marina around . Most tourist attractions are only a block or two off the marina. As you are tendered in, you will pass Lover's Beach and The Arch,  not up close and personal as if you took one of the excursions but a little closer than just from your ship. Friends rented RV's with a guide and completely ejoyed the who experience. Signed up for whale watching and coastal cruise.Awesome!

    Re: What To Do

Just got back from Cabo.  We did the Dolphin swim.  It's a little spendy ($163/pp) and I was a little hesitant to spend the money but we did it.  It was an awesome experience and well worth the money.

The pictures were pretty expensive after.  They want $25 each for 6 X 8 photo and they take so many great pictures.  We were able to get a disc with 16 photos on it for $139.

You can also try Cactus Tours.  4 wheeler tours through the desert, and an hour riding on the beach.  Great times.  Reasonably priced!

My husband, brother in law, and sister in law did the Sail and Snorkel Fiesta in Cabo.  Only $50, and is 2 hours long.  Well worth the money as there was open bar, music, and dancing for the second hour.  SO much fun, that I am doing it again in two weeks!

    Happy Cruising,

    Re: What To Do

Have you looked at your countdown clock lately? Smile  I have only three work days till blast-off. We did the Snuba in Cabo in February 2008 and it was the bomb. There were only five in our group. My wife and I had one guide and a family of three had the other. I stayed under for 45 minutes and saw many different types of fish and an old sunken fishing boat (25 ft long). We tendered to the dock, waited in a covered area 15 feet from the tender and boarded a small shuttle boat for a 5 minute ride to the dive platform. They gave us a quick orientation, put on bathing suites and wet suites in a private dressing room, and jumped in. If you intend to dive below the surface they fit you with a weight belt in the water ( the weight belt gives you neutral buoyancy to overcome the floating effects of the wet suite, you become weightless, you don’t sink but if you swim a little you can go down ). You first get use to the water by floating on top and then for the adventurous you can go up to 20 feet deep breathing through a compressed air hose attached to a cascade of tanks on the surface. The mouth piece is shaped like a snorkel. It is like SCUBA diving without the hassle of the tanks on your back. I would definitely recommend this one to those seeking adventure. $85 US

    Re: What To Do

I would like to do SNUBA but am hesitant because I do not snorkle well. I always get water in the mask.  Is snuba easier than snorkeling?  I have never been scuba diving because I am not a good snorkeler. I wish I was.  SHould I try snuba or avoid it?

    Re: What To Do

My wife has a wide face and sometimes has trouble sealing her mask. If you really want to know what you are missing you should go to a local dive shop and have them help you get fitted for a mask. I love seeing what’s under the water. If you cruise or vacation on the ocean allot it will be well worth the effort. You could go to Wal-Mart and purchase a cheap set and practice in the bathtub. The most common cause of water in the mask is hair caught between your skin and the seal of the mask. The second most common is the shape of your face. Don’t give up; with a little effort you will get a great reward. Happy Travel Snorkeling.
