    3/31/08 JAX/Key West/Bahamas

Anyone else travelling on the 3/31/08 Celebration out of Jacksonville?  It's our first cruise and we are bringing our 7 year old daughter.  She is ecstatic!  DH and I have been to Key West and love it and are very excited about visiting Nassau.  We aren't sure about shore excursions for Nassau - any suggestions?

Hi Andrea,  We'll be on the Celebration too.  We are sooooo ready for this trip! This will be our 3rd cruise ( all with Carnival) and as far as we are concerned it's the ultimate vacation.  We will be a family group of 15 adults and 4 kids ages 9-16, We are all siblings and spouses.  Our youngest sister is the only one with kids still at home so they get to go too.  We visited Key West on another cruise but it was pretty rushed because our son got married just after we left port. We loved what we saw and are anxious to go back again.  None of us have ever been to Nassau.  We think that we are just going to play it by ear rather than sign up for excursions.  I've been visiting Nassau on line and it appears that most everything we would be interested in ( transportation, local tours, etc. ) is readily available at or near the docks.  I hope if I'm totally wrong about this that someone will write and give us a heads-up. I hope you have a wonderful time!   If you happen to see 15 silly middle aged (or nearly) adults and 4 really embarrassed kids make sure you say Hi.

    Hi, Andrea~

There is a group of us who are coming on this cruise.  It will be me and my son (he is 14), my best friend and her two children (a girl that is 10 and a boy that is 14) and another friend who has two boys (I'm thinking one is around 10 or 11 and the other is around 15 or 16).  We all are leaving the husbands at home!  There is also another family coming that we know and they have two children, a boy and a girl.  I think the girl is around 10 or 11 and I think the boy is 15.

This will be my first cruise with Carnival, but my 4th cruise altogether.  My previous cruises were with Royal Caribbean.  My best friend, however, is a travel agent and this will be her 11th cruise, I think.    I have been to the Bahama's before, but this is my son's first cruise and his first trip out of the country.  He is really excited about going.  We are going to the Atlantis hotel to spend the day at their water park while at the Bahama's.  It looks like a lot of fun!

Well, it's nice to "meet" you!  Hope to see you onboard!

Thanks for the responses!  It's just myself, DH, and DD going this time.  Look for a couple of idiots with empty daiquiri glasses strewn about and you've found us!  JK- Seriously, I have already packed for this trip!  I really don't have any time between now and next Friday to actually do it though, so I've got most of it taken care of and have stuck lists on all my different bags of what I still need to put in there.  Found a good packing list on cruisecrazies.com.

I'm anticipating my DD spending most of her time at Camp Carnival.  DH will probably be in the casino, avoiding direct sunlight as he burns in the shade.  I plan on getting toasty (but I've been tanning so don't know if I'll get any toastier.)

Hope to run into you on board!

This is our 3rd or 4th time on this ship and while it's one of the older ships and a little smaller than the rest of the ships out there the crew really has always been terrific.  Enjoy and maybe we'll bump into you on the Lido deck!
