We are trying to book an excursion for St. Thomas....who has been and what excursion did you guys do? We can't decide between the Kayak, Hike and Snorkel Adventure or the Biking and Beach one........any recommendations?

St. Thomas is our favorite spot!  We didn't take an excursion last time.  They have open-air taxi's that will take you to the beach. The  beaches are white sand, the water is crystal clear and the snorkeling is terrific right off shore.  (They feed the fish milkbone dog bones and the fish come from everywhere to eat them).  Have a great time!!!

Thanks for your quick reply....I was thinking of doing the same thing....I told our group that if we couldn't decide on an excursion that we could just go and "wing it" and see what's available when we get there! Has anyone done the Skyride before? How sturdy is that thing?? LOL..

We did the Paradise Point skyride while there in November.  It's plenty sturdy, but there's really not much up there but souvenirs and a bar/restaurant.  Also a little bunjee jump thing and a short nature trail.  The cost is $19.95 without the Bushwacker (their signature drink) and I think something like $8 more with the Bushwacker.  The view is awesome, but it's probably the same view as you'd get if you were hiking the trails up there or drove up there.

    Luvmygrlz,

My wife and I took the cable car ride to paradise pointe and liked it. The cable car ride was very sturdy and kept clean. Once at the top there is a restaurant which has good food and the famous Bushwacker drink. There is the same old t-shirt stuff for sale but there is something different. There is a bird show where large birds ride bikes and walk on wires and talk. The views alone are breath taking.

I would not really recommend the sky ride.  It is very expensive and not much of anything.  The views are nice from up there, and we did like hearing the birds singing under us while we rode up. It is very sturdy and trustworthy, just not much fun.

    Have a Great Cruise

The Kontiki Party Boat? Sounds like fun!  Our cruise is 4/19/08. I didn't see this listed in the excursions.  How do you sign up?

    Re: St. Thomas KON TIKI

I'm sorry to say but the Kon-Tiki is not in service.  I've asked that question several times on different sites and I keep getting the same answer.  I will be cruising in July and am still hoping for some chance that it will be there..lol

We went on the Atlantis Submarine Tour and it was a fantastic time, I know that this is not in your above agenda but I thought it was mentioning in this post.  The crew was great and attentive and safety always came first.  Had many laughs and really enjoyed the sealife down below.  We saw a little of everything, momma shark and baby, many different fish, jelly fish, sting rays and all types of coral. They have nifty sea birds that follow the boat to the submarine that also had us laughing and picture-snapping.  We totally enjoyed the tour and the wonderful crewmates, Carlos, Pedro, Wellington (I believe his name was).

Whatever you do, enjoy yourselves.  Happy Cruising>>Believer

We did a private sail with www.yachtadventures.biz.  Great snorkeling experience.  Asked about Paradise Point, and was told that it wasn't worth it.  Took his word for it, and spent the money on ship drinks...

    Re: St. Thomas

Is there a place to rent snorkeling equip. on the beach?  Is it close to shopping? What about cab to the beach then to shopping and then a little tour, expensive? Im so worried about not getting to do everything also have to get back for the early dinner on the ship.
