Hello all, just wanted to let everyone know before they board the Destiny. DON"T spend alot of money on fancy dinner clothes...they do not enforce the dress code. I took this cruise in July 2006, it was very umm, not so classy. They allowed guests to come into the dining room with shorts, t-shirts,and flip flops. Children were everywhere, and out of control. They were jumping in and out of the adult whirl pool, carnival staff just ignored them, and when I complained they ignored me. I planned my trip for April this time, to see if there will be a difference, if not, I am going RC next time. This is my 3rd cruise with carnival. Everything else was fine for the most part. Thanks for the info!  I'll be on the Destiny on 9/27/08 and if those kids are in my adult pool.....Heads are gonna roll! LOL!

I just came off the destiny in April, what a difference; no very man kids..it was too port intense though.  Let me know if you need info on taxi or what not, because i have phone numbers...thanks

just found this forun through a Carnival rep. I had called to ask a question about a shore excursion and was told they can only see the same info we do on the website.

We're on the Destiny 8/17/2008 and am a bit nervous after reading recent trip reports at Cruise Critic. We actually had booked Adventurer of the Seas ,but switched to the Destiny because of the number of ports. I've planned excursions for each port except Barbados and St. Kitts- any suggestions?

just returned from Carnival Destiny 7/27/08 if at all possible i highly recommend the Antigua By Sea excursion, me and my fiancee had so much fun and it was well worth the 100 or so pp charge.

Hi, My husb. & son are on the 8/17/08 sailing on Destiny.  We are also on a "cruisecritic" Roll Call" blog/thread....get on ther site then get on "boards", then get on "roll calls", then get on "Destiny".  We are flying out of SFO and our son is out of D.C.  all mtg in San Juan to board the ship this Sun.  When you get on the roll call site....you will see that our son, Andy (FordSVT) has invited everyone to "meet & greet" in/on his cabin/balcony at 6pm Mon night before the late seating dinner....its an "AFT" balcony so its bigger , his room # is 8333 (starboard)...hope to see you there, Jill & Bob

I did this excursion...AWESOME...did you go to a private island?  Also did Darcy tell you that you would see Oprah Winfrey's house?  (which was not true). I thanked the locals for being hones with us..Also complained to Darcy that she should not tell people that just to get them on this excursion. She sent me a bottle to my room....Hope you had a GREAT time...

Also going to to be on the DESTINY 9/27/08.   She is coming out of dry dock and upgrades mid SEPT.    Maybe with the upgrades and refurbishment they will tighten up the rules a little to keep her in good condition.
