    Parking rates

We will be going on a cruise out of Mobile in April. I have been looking over the FAQ section for information along with other post in this forum. Does anyone know what the actual cost is to park your vehicle in the secured parking deck across from the pier in Mobile? We will be on a 5 day cruise and will have 2 vehicles to park.  Also, can anyone tell me about the ship Holiday? Past experiences? Good and bad. Some friends went on a cruise on this same ship back in July. They were informed that the Holiday was on its last cruise at that time. Has this ship been redone? Is the ship a new Holiday or remodeled?  Thanks for any info.

Been on 3-5day cruises...none from Mobile.  Check Carnival's site for parking info.  In Dec. 07, we prebooked Galveston parking for a $5. savings...cost 45.00/5nights.

    Re: Parking rates

I wouldn't entirely trust the information from the Carnival website about parking prices - they change periodically and sometimes it takes awhile for Carnival to catch up, like it did with us at Miami last November.  The best way is to search out the actual port website and check there.

    Re: Parking rates

Thanks for the info- I tried the link listed for the port and it seems to not work. Does anyone have an updated link I can try? I was told by neighbors who cruised in July on a 4 day that they paid around $35. The carnival website says it is like $75 for a 5 day cruise. Would just like to make sure of things like this before we get there. Thanks for any info you can provide.

This is what I am doing to avoid parking rates. I don't know if you can do it or not but there is a shuttle service from the airport to the port.

    Re: Parking rates

I called, its $75 for a 5 night cruise.  That sounds about right, when we went out of New Orleans it was the same price.  We piled everyone up in one car to save $$.  We will be the car pulling up with luggage and kids hanging out the window!!!

    Re: Parking rates

Thanks for the info. I have family coming from Texas to meet us in Mobile. I just hate having to spend $75 per vehicle to park. I would rather have that extra $75 to spend while on the cruise. Seems to me Carnival would look at it that way also. Would be nice to own a large piece of land close by the port-sounds like parking cars is where the money is these days. I don't think I can put 6 people and all their luggage any of our vehicles....Any idea how far the airport is from the port. Might make more sense to park there and get a taxi over???  Airport parking is usually $7 or $ per day isnt it?

Im just ready for some warm weather-it is so cold in Northern Alabama.

    Happy cruising.

    Re: Parking rates

Long term parking at the Airport is $6 a day/short term $8 I am not sure what qualifies as long/short term(1-800 357-5373).  They offer shuttle to the cruise terminal but it is $25 round trip per person.  We have yellow cab here in Mobile, I dont know what the rates are but here is the number if you want to check (251-471-7611). The Mobile Convention Center is right next door to the terminal, I am curious to know if you can park there and walk to the terminal.  Parking there usually runs from $3-5 a day. I called the number but couldnt get anyone, here it is if you want to try.  251-208-7486 the parking managers name is Derbra Graham.  Let me know what you find out.

    Re: Parking rates

Thank You for that information, I called the Mobile Convention Center to check on their parking, I spoke with Debra and she was really nice and said that unfortunatelly they dont offer overnight parking, that their lot is open and not secure and wouldnt recommend leaving your car there because the gates remain open and it would be unsecue. She said that the only option that we had would to be park at the cruise port or taxi in. Let me know if any of you locals have other options for us. Thank You

    Re: Parking rates

I sailed on 1/22/09 I did not park at the terminal cause of price. But i did park at the Radisson-Admiral Semmes 251 goverment st, Mobile Al It was 50 dollors. They will also shuttle to the port.. Or you can walk to the port only 4 blocks away and it takes less then 5 mintues walk..

When you get there just go inside to the desk and tell them you are taking a crusie and would like to pay for parking they give you a pass.. when pulling into the parking garage get the little card.. Once you have parked. Just take that little card inside and they throw it away.. Once leaving the lot after the cruise. The Att will see that you have the pass and wll open up the gate so you can leave.

This parking garage is for Gov empoylees and radission guests and it is also use for people whom are taking the crruise.. I hope this helps..

If you stay at the motel Howard Johnsons the night before your cruise, you can park at the motel free and take a taci to the port. Thats what we did and the taxi dropped us off right in front of the port.

    Re: Parking rates

It is $75.00 for a 5 day cruise. We cruised in March on the Holiday. The holiday has been sold and the fantasy will be taking it's place on Nov 10th. WE will be cruising on the Fantasy in Dec.

Thanks for the information. We cruised in August from New Orleans and the 5 day was $82.00 to park. We love the Fantasy and are excited it is coming so close to us now. We are taking the whole family on December 10th out of Mobile and cannot wait.
