ICE is a time share company that manages time share units all over the world.

They now manage the travel aspect of the Carnival Sea Miles Card so I would avoid that credit card like the plaque~!!!`

Unfortunately, folks are not big into reading the fine print when they are on vacation.

And Carnival's reputation took a  hit with this one.  That is why I am glad Carnival closed it down.

As for thinking that Carnival ran it, there are many things that are on Carnival ships that Carnival does not own or run.  The Spa for one.  The gift shop for another. Both are subcontracted out to other companies.  The Art Auction for another.  So it is not uncommon for someone else to sell their "wares" on a Carnival ship.

We have no real complaints regarding CVC.  We purchased a $3500 package aboard Conquest in 2006.  It has worked out for us as we look at it as we prepaid for 2 vacations.  I am not working now and we have a 1 yr old.  We would not have been able to take her on her 1st cruise @ 11 months old and another coming up when she will be 15 months old if we had not purchased CVC.  We became friends with our salesman who I still email with 2 yrs later.  He took care of us the week on board and purchased us all the drinks we wanted.  In August we took a cruise on the Holiday.  We did get priority coming on board which was wonderful since we had a stroller full of baby supplies.  This wasn't so much the case getting off but we were still off after about an hr.  I was very pleased to see the service we received getting on such a small ship.  We are going on the ecstasy in January 2009 and due to money situation I wasn't able to get as high a level as we wanted (plus I waited to long) but we still had enough points for oceanview.  On the Holiday we did get a $50 on board credit that we were not expecting.  Unfortuanately this will be our last cruise coming up for a while since I am pregnant and babies have to be over 4 months old which would be Oct of 2009 and by then hubby will be deployed.  Our next cruise will have to wait til mid to late 2010 but luckily we can set aside some of the deployment $$ to pay for it.  By then we can also take advantage of the kids club with oldest child (she will be almost 3 then).

    Elation 2005-5 day

    Conquest 2006-7 day

    Holiday 2008-5 day

    Ecstasy 2009-4 day

I have been of 7 cruises,6 of which were with Carnival. So you CAN see which is my favorite Cruise Line.I have NEVER had even a mild complaint about ANYTHING.Which leads me to  ask this question.Who do I direct my coments about my PVP,Janet Jimenez is my Personal Vacation Planner, for the last 3 cruises and she has been more than remarkable. She has helped me book cruises for my fiance and I,and as we invited my son, daughter, and my friend, she personally contacted them to help them make their arrangements. They also were VERY impressed with her. So,I am on VERY HAPPY cruiser. Please see that she gets the KUDOS she deserves.

Hello to all those people who were conned out of their money by Carnival Vacation Club!!

I was once a sales person selling these packages onboard. I was one of the handful who actually got things up and running on the PRIDE.

At first, when we joined this program it sounded great and we were all motivated to sell these different packages. However, soon I started to discover that cruises could be bought cheaper directly from Carnival and all the benefits were actually useless.

I started complaining to my manager and voicing my concerns to Pat Olsen, who was onboard at that time, and soon found myself in hot water. After much protesting at what we were doing to the cruising public, I was escorted off the ship In Alaska.

Should anyone have a lawsuit against this company, I will be glad to testify against Carnival Vacation Club and it's senior management.

    Re: carnival vacation club

I couldn't agree more.  When we first signed up on the ship, they gave us all kinds of free things and parties just for the club.  Every cruise I've been on since didn't have any Carnival Vacation club staff and no extras like they promised.  Every time I've tried to use my points, they encourage you to book on line, but then it requires more points when you actually book or if you call in and speak to an agent.   When I've asked about this, they say they just haven't updated the website regularly and things change.  It takes a long time to get through to agent and they don't always have the answers to your questions.  The actual paper resort vacation certificates they gave me have one expiration date, but they say that's incorrect and it doesn't matter what's stamped on the certificate, it's by their records.  The extension of the contract when we signed up was for $199, has now changed to $299. It turns out their customer service is for 4 companies with different rules so when you call in they don't even know what the rules of your contract are.  It's all been such a scam.  When I used to book directly through Carnival it was such a pleasant experience with a knowledgeable, helpful person.  The last time I called into Carnival Vacation club, the customer service person actually told me no one else, other than than the president which only accepted written correspondence, was the only one who could help me with any of my issues.  She refused to transfer me to anyone else.  When I've called in prior to this last experience, I get promises for someone to call back, but they never do.  It's all really been a shame.  I guess it sums up that if you joined Carnival Vacation Club, you got scammed because you paid more attention to the fact that Carnival, a name I once trusted, was in the title.  As much as I've enjoyed my cruiese on Carnival, this whole situation has really left me with a bitter taste in my mouth toward them.  I assume thier getting some kickback for allowing Carnival Vacation Club to sell on thier ships and use thier name, and I paid the price for trusting the name.

My husband just spoke with Carnival and it seems they are concerned about the situation.  I don't know if anything will be done, but it restored my faith a bit in Carnival.

I decided to do some research to see if anyone else was having problems, and as I can see, they are. I also thought the deal was grand. Last February I spoke to CVC to ask questions about the resort certificates. At this time I told the gentleman that I was planning on taking my grandkids to Disney in December (2008) and also asked him if I would be all set to take my yearly February cruise in 2010. The fine gentleman assured me everything would be fine. Come to find out, my membership expired this past February...I lost over 2,200 points (a cruise I expected to take in February) and had 4 resort certificates remaining (they offered me 200.00 cash card per certificate: I was told I could use one per cruise or resort stay). I was irate and asked why the gentleman had told me that my points would be there for me. Of course there was no answer, except to try to find a way to get me to buy in to their new plan (vacation rewards). Although the person was trying his hardest to make a sell over the phone, bottom line was that I lost a LOT of money due to their error. I even told them that if I had known I was going to lose these points, I would have taken my grandkids on a Disney cruise instead of staying at a resort.

We are currently having similar problems with CVC. Have you had a favorable response? We are thinking about going to the Attorney General's office of the state of Florida.

    Re: carnival vacation club

Not much luck here.  Carnival sent us an official letter stating there was nothing they could do.  I begrudgingly sent off my $299 to extend my membership for 2 additional years so I didn't lose everything. I suppose, at this point, I should consider myself lucky I didn't lose everything. I don't think we have a leg to stand on, but I'm up for any petition, suit, or anything I could help anyone with.  I'd at least be willing to try to cause them a small part of the grief they've caused me.

I too am in your shoes... I just opened my book as we've been considering using it again and saw that the resort certificates are stamped to expire this month. I phoned to extend and they said it expired last month...I sit here right now and wait for someone to call me back... reading your blogs... I am not very hopefull.... BUT I would like to help pursue something if they dont fix it.

    Re: carnival vacation club

My contract isn't up until November 2009 so I was still within the period, although it was supposed to be $199 and my certificates arent's stamped to expire until December.

So disqusted!! after reading and seeing that we r not the only ones.  in 2006, we purchased silver plan....after dealing with cancer, spliting with spouse, and other life problems, turned to cvc for a due vacation, i pulled out cvc book and called to extend plan, only for them to tell me I was in default,  ok now what?  girl told me no prob.  u can just pay remaining and remove default, (default because checking was closed and couldnt get less than 800 dollars from account) .  With only 4 months left to expiration,  i waited for some one to email or call....no call, and everytime i called, the supervisor was not at her desk, out to lunch, or gone for the day.  with a month away from exp.  i made another called and finally spoke to the superviser...only to hear her say in regards to your account being in default and only a month left before expire we will not reopen..Ok well just send me my money..since i didnt take a cruise , right?  only fair.  she then told me that she did not know where money was....then told me carnival had.  So carnival get paid for people not taking a cruise.  Still not happy  I asked her to get me her supervisor, she said there was no one else to talk to....i asked her well just send me to the owner but that was not gonna happen.
