sailing on Oct 29 2008 Rome to Florida

Can't wait to sail the Mediterranean Sea and pass thru the Strait of Gibraltar to the Atlantic. We have a 5 day stay in Tuscany before the cruise. Would like to see pictures of the middle & aft pools since they are different on this ship. Have sailed on the Victory twice & Liberty once. Looking forward to this 17 day cruise.

This will be cruise 9 and 10 for us with Carnival. We were so impressed with what we read about Carnival Splendor that we booked the October 29th 08. trans-Atlantic cruise. But we wanted to experience more of the Mediterranean so decided to do back to back cruises and booked again on the Splendor departing on October 17th. This also affords us more time for Rome and surrounding area as it will mean having an extra full day in the Port of Civitavecchia. We've been thinking about using the extra day to travel by train to Anzio. Is there anyone else doing a back to back?

Hi Orian....you posted this way back in Nov 07 and I just found it. If you're still out there somewhere, I wanted to tell you that we are also doing the back to back. Some people think we're nuts, but now I can tell them that I found another person doing this. I'm sure there are more of us doing this. Maybe we should start another topic "Back to Back" What do you think?

We are on the TA Oct 29, this will be our second time doing the TA... the first time we met many folks that did the back to back I can say the people who think your crazy are probably just envious.. because I would be... we have done a back to back and it was great knowing we didn't have to get off the ship and we had another hole week. we hope you have a great time

Thanks Rog..appreciate your words of people being envious. That could be the case. We'll be on the cruise before you and then join you on the TA. Can't wait to see the Splendor. Was so excited to get our flights, do you have yours? Right away I called the airlines to get our seat assignments. Now it's getting exciting....Big Smile

Back to you Rog....we recently went platinum and to me the best perk is the free laundry service. I've wasted time on another long cruise waiting for a washing machine to become available in the laundry room. [8o|.....Now we just fill out the form, put it a bag, label it platinum and they return it in a nice basket all folded and it's all free.Smile

Hi Rog...always appreciate your replys. Some people ask a question and then never let you know if they received my reply or maybe I shouldn't expect that. Have a great time in Rome. It's a great walking city. The first part of our cruise the Splendor spends 2 days there and I can't wait to get back to wander the streets of Rome. By the way, what are you doing for Halloween??????????Hmm
