Unhappy with Splendor

My husband and I just completed a 7 day cruise to Mexico (10/04/09 - 10/11/09) and were very unhappy with the ship. The employees, entertainment, food and casino staff were wonderful. It was the ship itself. Here are some examples:

Restrooms were hard to find and were very small. One had to step into a stall to let another person walk by.
No drink stations out by the pool on the Lido deck! You get a hamburger out there and then have to walk all the way into the Lido Buffett to get an ice tea. Not good planning.
Very limited coffee stations on the Lido deck. Only one on each side and the lines were so long that by the time I got coffee, my breakfast was cold. The machines also ran out a lot and after standing in line for 5 minutes or so, one had to go find another line.
Smokers were delegated to a very small area of the ship. Deck 10 aft was the only place to find table, chairs and ashtray. (Other ships allowed smokers to go to the starboard side on an open deck.) This prevented us from enjoying any activities and music. If the ship is non-smoking, say so. We will sail with someone else.
We never did figure out how to get to the bow. There seemed to be a lot of 'road blocks' on different decks with no way to get around them.

These are just some of the things that made us unhappy. We have sailed on quite a few Carnival ships and have never been so unhappy with the ship itself. I really hope that they contact some others on this cruise because I heard a lot of unhappy people.

We are planning a family cruise for Nov. 2010 for our 20th anniversary but will go with another line if Splendor is still sailing out of Long Beach.

For you first timne cruiser sailing from long beach Feb 21..Remember long beach in feb can be cool, usally the first day on ship you need a sweatshirt after that starts to warm up nicelyuntill the final down back then sweatshirt again.

My wife,son,daughter,my mom,son's friend just got off the Splendor about 5 hours ago. We had the time of our life,It was my son's 17th birthday the 2nd day at sea,My son and his friend realy liked the ship.They spent time in the teens club,made new friends. We hardly saw them the entire cruise except for Dinning at nite and going to port.Mom loved playing bingo and the singles meet & Greets.Daughter(10) had such a good time in her club, making new friends that today when we got off the ship she started crying she wasn"t going to see her new friends again(really sad) Wife and I thought the pink was not that bad,This was the best time we had since our last cruise on Carnival. We took many pics going to post on Photobucket next couple days( Have great ones of our hammack hanging on our balcony)Going to rest now very tired!!

So who is going to be joining me on the Carnival Splendor January 10, 2010. I am so excited to be going there and seeing the magnificent whales and their babies before they head back north and then I can watch them go by where I live. Is there anyone else interested about going on one of the whale excursions.
