My husband and I are on the Freedom on Nov 6th, we are flying to Rome 2 days before and is checking for hotels, but we would like to know how far is the ship from the airport just in case we stay at the airport Hilton for 150.00 a night thru Delta. We too are curious about the weather crossing the Atlantic in November.

My husband and I are taking our first European cruise on the Splendor on Aug 30th to Northern europe. I have noticed that not every port uses the Euro and was wondering what is the easiest way to exchange money at the ports. (or should we do it on the ship)

Cruise lines that including you to Kusadasi, Turkey make you enjoy your time. Since Turkey has 6 moths sunny weather you have a lot of time to travel there. If you join a tour including Turkey, you should ask for Kusadasi and do not worry about what to do there. There are a lot to do. Please read the "must-dos" in the following link:

Shore Excursions in Mediterranean

My mother who is 82 and I (54) have a cruised booked in October on the Freedom. Mom has her heart set on a gondola ride. I am thinking of booking the Murano, St. George's Island and Gondola Tour. One is available on Friday at 2:30 and the other on Saturday at 8:45. The ship does not arrive until around 2 on Friday. The tours are 4.5 hours and I would assume the one on Friday might not be complete before it becomes dark. Mom is able to walk, but not fast, and I'm a little concerned about safety at night. However,I thought if she is able we might try on the full day (Saturday) to go back in to Venice. Any advice?

Is there a wonderful land excursion in Naples, Dubrovnik, Messina-Sicily,, Barcelona, Cannes, or Livorno that should not be missed. She and I would really love to see some beautiful scenery as she is not that much into art. I have heard Tuscany is beautiful and thought about the "beautiful Tuscany tour" and wondered about Capri & Amalfi Coast or Amalfi Coast & Sorrento? Any suggestions? Thanks!!

Masquerade?

I heard somewhere that there is possibly a Masquerade Party after Venice on the ship. Is this true on the Carnival Freedom Ship.... with all the cool Venician Masks...

I was curious if anyone has heard of this....

I am just too jazzed and want more details of ship activities while we are on this cruise.

I have read so much about the ports and all, but would love some insight on what is the ship activites of entertaining like on this cruise...

My wife and I went on the 26 Aug med cruise and what a great time. We are going back again next year and want to spend a couple days pre-cruise. Are we better off booking the motel thru carnival or finding one ourself. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Getting from the ship to the airport in Rome

According to Carnival website the earlist you should book a flight out of Rome on the day you get back is 9:35. According to the itinerary the ship does not even get in until 7:00. This seems way to tight a time schedule. Other boards have comments that Carnival had their people at the airport before the ticket counters even opened though. Anyone else been on the Freedom or other ship in the Med coming in to Rome? What was yor experience. I just don't want to miss a flight leaving at 10:30.

We're looking to hook-up other couples cruising on the Freedom 10/16/07 to share costs on some of the private tours. We're an old (early 60's and NOT retired) couple from S Florida with about five cruises under our belt and love of touring new places. There are some excursions that get cheaper with more people going together. 221 days until our cruise. They tell me how long each time I go on the site to look at excursions. Also want to know if anyone has any idea about the hotels Carnival uses for their pre and post trip stay in Rome. Open for info on that too!

My name is Andrew and I am going to be on the cruise on October 4th. This will be my second cruise and I am very excited to be returning to Europe. I would like to get reviews of the ports and excursions that others go on, so that I can make an educated decision as to which excursions to go on. I would also like to meet others that are going on the cruise. I have been to Europe many times, but never to any of the places that are on this schedule. I am flying over to Rome a day early so that I can spend some time exploring the vatican, and the colliseum. I can't wait for october. Andrew
