Is it true that you receive a time stamp when you get on the toll road from Orlando Airport to Port Canaveral and a time stamp when you get off that will calculate whether or not you were spending and if you were spending you will be issued a speeding ticket? Also, what are the fees for the toll road?

Rental Car to Port Canaveral

Hey everyone. Wwe are flying into Orlando on October 7th (our cruise doesn't depart tell the 10th). We are planning on going to Universal Orlando for 2 days before the cruise leaves. Anyways because of this we are planning on getting a rental car for the 2 1/2 days before the cruise leaves. Will I be able to return the rental car to a place near the port instead of back at the airport? I'm sure there will be a relocation fee and i'm fine with that. The same thing will need to be done after we are done with the cruise since our plane doesn't leave tell the following day as well.

I've noticed on expedia I can package my rental car with our hotel. Do any of you know that if I do that if I have to return the car to the airport or if I can pay the extra and return it at the port? The Expedia package deal saves so much money so If we can do that thats what I would like to do.

Anyways any help would be appreciated as I want to try and finish booking everything this week.

We sailed on theGlory November 7th. We checked into the Country inn and suites at 1:00 Friday, swam in there wonderful mineral pool and hot tub. we got a great park and cruise rate and free breakfast and then a free shuttle to the port!! We arrived at the port at 11:05 the check in went quickly and we were on the ship eating lunch by 12:10!!

We got off the ship about 9:00 and we were thru customs and picked up our luggage by 9:20. We called our shuttle driver and he was there in 5 minutes!! It was a great experience to have after dealing with problems at another port!!

So thank you Port Canaveral for having your act together!!!

Rooms and Food at Radisson

Can anyone recommend a place within walking distance to Radisson for dinner? How is restaurant in hotel?

I've heard that some of the rooms at the hotel are kinda retro and others are more up to date. Is there particular building(s) that are nicer then the rest?

Can anyone advise how to get to Port Canaveral from the Orlando airport? We are flying in a day early, and don't want to rent a car just for the 45 minute drive to the port. All I can find are shuttle services that want upwards of $150 for this ride. Has anyone ever taken a taxi, or found a reasonable shuttle service? Thanks for any input you can provide!

this is my second time cruising out of canaveral and this has probably been asked before but are there cabs to take back to the airport? i plan on surprising my brother with a limo on the way there but kind of pricey to pay for a r/t limo.

Rental car or shuttle service from the airport to Port Canaveral

Our family of 4 is flying in 2 days early before our cruise in May, and is wanting to know if anyone has rented a car from the airport and been able to return it before the cruise at the Port. We also be needing to rent one after the cruise to get back to the airport. Is it cheaper (for a family of 4)to rent a car or use a shuttle service?

Cocoa Inn Best Western

We have reserved a couple of rooms for the night before our cruise at Cocoa Inn Best Western ( this is not the one at the beach). The reviews on it seem to be ok since they remodeled. It is right off the interstate and as long as it is clean and the A/C works then we will be fine. The kids just want the pool anyway. Has anyone stayed here this year and what did you think?

We are flying into Orlando and haven't yet booked our pre-cruise hotel and transportation---we'll likely do a limo/shuttle service. Do the hotels fill up?

Should I be booking the room and transportation like---NOW?

My have book on Carnival Dream on May 1 2010, I was just wondering does anyone know how early can I check in to board the ship. This will be the first time we have left from Port Canaveral. I have left from Ft. Lauderdale for the first time in April, we stood in a line that went on & on. If anyone know pls share.

Must dos or sees

We will be leaving on a Bahamas cruise in November. One day we will have a port of call in Port Canaveral from 7 am to 7 pm. I'm looking at the shore excursions trying to decide what to do with two boys (11 & 15).

Any suggestions?

I have heard that Cocoa Beach is not very clean. Any comments?

Port Canaveral Transportation to Epcot

We are first time cruisers and will be porting in Port Canaveral on November 11th and want to visit Epcot during our 12 hour stay. We can get a ticket to Epcot for $79 per person through Disney instead of booking through Carnival and paying $160 per person, so we really would like to save $80 per person if we can. My question, however is this:

Do taxis run from the port to Disney?

Do I need to book in advance?

How expensive are they?
