Is anyone planning a cruise on the Miracle April 29, 2010??? Any suggestions for sailing out of New York, or San Juan Puerto Rico, St Thomas , or Grand Turk??

We (there are 4 of us) are flying into LaGruadia and are thinking of taking a taxi to the ship port (leaving 11/23 on the Dream from New York). Has anyone done this before or have any other ideas that are cheaper then the airport transfer from the airport to the ship?

Hello fellow cruiser's just wondering if theres anyone else sailing with us on Oct 10th? This is our 6th cruise but first time to New York, we hope to take a couple of extra days in New York before the cruise to see some sights. We are flying in from Illinois two country bumkins with NO big city experience, anyone have any suggestions. We are still trying to find a reasonable hotel room thats centrally located. Is the city's bus system easy to use and get around on? Are there area's we want to avoid? Are taxi's really expensive? We were told first timers to New York should see the Empire State Building, Staue of Liberty, Rockefeller Center, Times Square, Bronx Zoo and Staten Island Ferry is this feasible to do in two days? Can we get to these things by bus? I have a lot of questions so any advice would help, thanks so much.

Sept 12 Sailing on the Triumph

Hi,

My friend and I are going on the 9/12 sailing of the Triumph. Anyone else going?

This is will be my 8th cruise, and my friends 2nd. I have done all Caribbean or Mexican Riviera cruises in the past.

Does anyone know the age range of the New England "Fall Foliage" cruises? Is it an older crowd? We are both 43. Personally, I am hoping for a little older crowd.

We are doing this route because it seems like a nice change of pace. I've found that so many of the ports are getting the same look to them--same store chains, same excursions, etc.

Also, if anyone has been on this cruise, can they recommend shore excursions? There are so many really nice looking ones.

Parking at New York Port

From your website, we are informed that parking is $24 per day at the New York Port. However, due to input from other sources, we need to inquire if that $24/day includes all taxes, fees, etc. Additionally, are there any other less expensive options for parking?

We look forward to our June 19th cruise on the Carnival Victory (our 4th Carnival cruise in the last two years!)

Who will be cruising on the Carnival Triumph/Canada? This will be my 2nd cruise.on Carnival looking forward to it. I hope we have WONDERFUL weather,

Too excited I don't have to fly to any port, leaving from my own city.

P.S. past cruisers that just went on a cruise to Canada on the Triumph, please share you thoughts and views. I would love to know what I'm getting into..Thanks.

first time cruise with 2 small kids

hello,

I've never cruised before and am thinking of taking my wife and 2 kids, ages 1 and 3, with us out of New York to eastern carib. sometimes in November.

should i get a balcony or a window cabin with small kids? is there free entertainments for the kids on the ship, or the least for my 3 yo son? I'm worried about the kids getting sea sick etc.

any thoughts?

Here is some info about the 5 night Canadian cruise.

Jorge, cruise director, is great. He is going on vacation so I hope you catch him. He made the cruise better. The ship was nice. We have cruised on it before and it looks like new. The rooms were spacious. The weather was not great. Be prepared for cold weather. The fog was so heavy it was hard to see the water. Rain was also a factor. Bring a sweatshirt and umbrella and you should be fine. Food....I would suggest the duck it was amazing. Also the rack of lamb and the prime rib. I would skip the lobster. So small and lacking in taste. Bring wine. You can bring one bottle per person although I am sure if you brought more they wouldn't know or care. Just open it in your stateroom and you are all set. Parking at the ship is great. You pay at the gate. A drug dog is lifted into your trunk and then you are able to park. We found a space right away and it was easy to get on the ship from there. With 3000 people boarding the ship you would think it was crazy but it went quickly and smoothly. The two ports were nice. We followed Jorge's recommendations. To tour by yourself in St. Johns and ride the on and off bus in Halifax. St. Johns is very small and we were done by noon. The reverse tide....when we were there reversed long after we were on the ship so we saw the water but not the reverse tide. There is a great market which was fun to see and tour. Halifax was interesting. The bus takes you around the town and you can stop and get off and on as much as you want. Fun town. The shows were okay but once again Jorge was great. Wish we didn't do the late seating. There wasn't anything to do between 6 and 8. Over all a wonderful time. Our waiter was Raymond. He was so nice. Be sure to tip them extra. They work very hard and only have one lunch off every other cruise!! Hope you enjoy your curise and that this info helped you.

The wife and I are planning a cruise on the Dream for this November 23 to the Bahamas, and would like to know what to expect for air tempertures for day 1 and 2. NY itself is only in the mid 50's but was hoping once we head out to sea things would warm up a bit. I relize the more south we get things will start to warm up. Any feed back would be great. Thanks

My husband and I will be taking the New England/Canada cruise this fall. This is a first cruise for us and also it will be the first time that we've been to New York. We'd like to take a couple of hours at the end of our cruise and take a quick tour of New York prior to boarding our plane home; but don't want to haul our baggage around with us for about 6-7 hours and we'd really NOT like to stay overnight at a hotel only for a place to store our luggage so we can do a quick tour. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Hello all, My family would like to arrive at the Port early, and visit the Intrepid. Does anyone know, if you are allowed to check in your luggage early, and if you must board the Ship as soon as you deliver your bags? Does anyone know what is the earliest time they will allow you to check in? Any information will be appreciated.
