I send my friends emails of last miute cruises all the time. Last night at 2am we working and they said go for it. We are leaving on the Imagination on Nov.30 but we arrive in Miami the day before. I will keep searching the boards for answers but if anyone can help it would be appreciated. I need to find out how much a taxi cost from the port to the airport. plus I need to find a cheap place to stay. If the hotel had shuttle service even better. We're not worried about sightseeing or shopping; just a place to sleep. Thanks

I BOOKED A CRUISE FOR JAMAICA. I DROVE 12HRS TO MIAMI TO GET ONTHE SHIP GET DOWN THERE AND THEY TELL US A PART ON THE SHIP WAS NOT REPAIRED ON TIME SO WE WERE GOING TO THE BAHAMAS INSTEAD I WAS VERY UPSET BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN TO THE BAHAMAS TWICE AND DIDNT WANT TO GO AGAIN! THEY PUT OUR BAGS ON THE SHIP THEN THEY TOLD US WE WERE NOT GOING TO JAMAICA.... WOW! I HAD TO GET ON THE SHIP TO GET MY BAGS.I HAVE RECENTLY FOUND OUT IF IT IS THERE FAULT AND THEY DONT GIVE 24HRS NOTICE I AM SUPPOSED TO GET MY MONEY BACK?? BUT THEY WANTED TO GIVE 20% OFF THE NEXT CRUISE ?? WHAT IS THAT?? I PLAN ON TELLING ANY BODY MY STORY SO THIS WANT HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE BECAUSE THEY ARE KNOWN FOR REROUTEING GUEST WITHOUT NOTICE ???? MY CRUSE DATE WAS 9/12/2009 I WILL NEVER CRUISE WITH CARNIVAL AGAIN ...ROYAL C. WILL B MY NEXT CRUISE THANKS CARNIVAL!!

I'm feeling very frustrated right now.

My significant other and I are booked on the Valor on 2/14/10.

we used a travel agent, a freind of his. I've never spoken to the agent.

we booked a deal where Carvnival chose our flights to and from Miami and Carnival will choose our cabin.

I started reading this board after we booked, and decided it would be a good idea to fly down from NY to Miami gthe day before the cruise. I see several hotels that can be added for a short pre-cruise stay.

travel agent keeps telling us "it can't be done, it's not available for your trip."

I don't get it.

Hyatt Regency near Port??

Has anyone stayed at the Hyatt Regency as a pre cruise stay. We got a great rate on hotwire and we are arriving on 11/21/09 for 2 nights and set sail on 11/23/09.

According to the hotel they are a 10 minute walk from Bayside. What was your experience at this hotel, how was the area, and would you stay again?

Can anyone offer information on this hotel for the night before sailing? I got the AAA Rate and was able to book it for November 27th (cruising on the 28th) for $89. I think it's fairly close to the cruise terminal, but I'm not sure just how close. Any information would be helpful.

Marriott Miami Biscayne Bay Hotel

Hi all,

I was looking for a hotel room for this upcoming January and wow are the prices up there!

Our hotel from last September was only $95 or so with taxes but now it would be $195 ??!! YIKES!

So after reading the boards and searching around this was the best rate I could find. The other recommended hotels were easily over $150 for the night.. more towards $200 with taxes! That was just too much for a place to sleep before heading out on our cruise.

Ended up finding Marriott Miami Biscayne Bay Hotel for a total of $112.40 on hotels dot com.

Hope it turns out to be a good one - it's supposed to be a 3 1/2 star.

Does anyone know the most reasonable mode of transportation from the Port Of Miami to the Miami Airport after the cruise? Our plane leaves around 1:00pm so we would need to get to the airport directly after the cruise. We have 15 in our group and are looking for the most reasonable mode of transportation for that number of people. Wondering if a shuttle service would be cheaper than taxis? If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, please let me know.

I usually cruise out of Miami. Anyone out there looking for a roommate? Since its all based on double occupancy, Im looking to bunk with another woman between the ages of 40-55. This is not a kinky request for all you kinks. Its a genuine interest in any other women who find themselves cruising alone, and not thrilled with paying an almost double fare.

Or does anyone know a better place I can look for people in my situation. Lord knows I love my man but he won't budge off dry land. LOL

Holiday Inn Port of Miami - Decent place to stay

Hi all,

I'm sitting here in my room at the Holiday Inn PoM watching the GF get ready so we can go on our cruise. I just wanted to share my experience with the hotel. The location is just across from the cruise ship terminals and is about a $10 taxi ride away.

Also, directly across Biscayne Blvd is the Bayside Marketplace where there are several places to eat and have a drink. Choices currently range from Lombardi's, a decent Italian eatery where we ate last night, to Hooters, which had to have the longest wait of any of the restaurants and bars to get in. There are also several smaller spots including a Cuban place that looked good if but a bit pricey and a pizza place that had nice-looking pies, plus a few other chains including Bubba Gump's and Chili's.

The rooms here are small but functional. We landed one on the tenth floor, which is the highest. It is dwarfed by all the high-rise condos nearby. Here's a big tip for you: sign up in advance for the Priority Club Rewards program! You will get a better room, plus they gave us a special card that got us $5 off meals in the restaurant. We chose to have a menu-ordered breakfast (~$8) instead of the $12 buffet because we are going on a cruise now and will have plenty of the latter from which to choose. Also, check their website to see if they have any Internet specials. We did that and though we had to prepay when we booked, we managed to get the room for $83 taxes inclusive.

The bed is comfy and cozy and theyhave a pillow menu! The bath amenities are good. The tubs are slippery when you get in; be careful. They have free WiFi in the rooms with a good signal.

One other note, we rented a car one-way in Ft. Lauderdale where we landed. They have a small gated parking area that is currently $12/night. We rented from Avis which does not allow after-hours car drop offs and alternative overnight parking that looks safe in this area is not easy to find.

I am not sure if you are aware of this fact. I wanted to let all know that I just found out that the handicapped parking is free at the Port of Miami for up to 14 days. So if you are driving and or spending the night b4 a cruise you can take advantage of this.

our PVP said that we do not need passports for the Valor cruise out of Miami. She said it had something to do with the ship leaving Miami and returning to Miami. We have several people going on the ship without passports, does anyone know if this is true. thanks

We won't be cruising until June, 2010, but I like to look at all my options early. I am looking for a hotel in Miami that will pick us up from the airport as well as deliver us to the port for our cruise. I need it to be within walking distance of maybe a few shops and/or restaurants. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
