just wondering if anyone knows of a hotel that allows you to keep your car there for the duration of the cruise and provides transportation to and from the ship??? Cruising on the Freedom in January and trying to avoid the parking fees at the port if I can. Thanks in advance for any help :)

We are staying the night at Comfort Inn, Hollywood Fl and was wandering if anyone knows of someplace close that we can pick up water & soda for the kiddo's and wine for mama? I've looked at what is located around the area and nothing looks familar to us Missourians.

We recently used Sun and Moon Express to transport our family of 9 to the cruise terminal from our hotel (GalleryONE Doubletree) and then to the airport at the end of our cruise. This service was comparable to six taxi cabs in price but MUCH more convenient! We would use Edwin Gonzalez with Sun and Moon Express again....very professional and helpful.

How is the embarkation process going lately at Port Everglades? There were a few horror stories this summer. We are sailing Oct 4 and are scheduled to arrive at the terminal around 11:00. Is that too early? We have VIP on our Fun Pass. Thanks!

Shuttle Service to/from airport

Me and my Sister are going on a cruise in November. According to Carnival, they will pick us up at the airport and take us back for our return flight for $30.00 per person. Is there other services offered at the airport a little less expensive than Carnival? (We will be at the Fort Lauderdale Airport). Thanks!

Fort Lauderdale Fl Departure from Hell!

For any sane individual desiring to take a cruise on any Carnival Line please do not select the Ft Lauderdale dport for departure. The line for boarding the ship was anguishing and sluggish in proceeding. The weather for the May 29th departure was extremely hot and no water fountains available and the area is nothing more than a large warehouse with fans. Herding people in that manner is unacceptable for the price paid to cruise from this port.

Other note: The Freedom cruise was a pleasureable adventure, the seating dining was supreme and the buffet style eating was so, so. however I must warn all that considers the beach excursion package beware. This event was a great disappointment and catering was something that the cruise line personnel should partake of before soliciting to their customers. Warning, Warning.

VIP Check In in Fort Lauderdale

Does anyone know how the VIP check in at Fort Lauderdale works?? In Tampa, you now have to stand in the general boarding line until you get through security. Just wondering what kind of line we should expect, mom and I are sailing the Miracle on November 4, 2009.

We are also looking for a sail and park hotel/motel, any suggestions are greatly appreciated. If we can't find one, has anyone ever used valet parking at this port??? How convenient is it?? Is it right in front of the entrance to boarding?? Do they have plenty of available porters??

I know this has been asked at least 100 times, and I do apologize for asking again but I am looking for a hotel in FLL that is within walking distance to a supermarket to purchase sodas and water to take on the ship, and also have shuttle from airport and to the ship. Any suggestions? We stayed at the comfort suites Airport and Cruise but there was nothing within walking distance for restraunts or supermarkets. Hopefully someone has some suggestions.

We're sailing on the Freedom on April 18th and are flying down (we're from Michigan) the day before. We have reservations at LaQuinta Inn & Suites in Hollywood, Florida. Has anyone stayed there ? If so, is there a grocery store near by, we would like to buy some boxes of wine to take on the cruise. We're hoping this will be a good place to spend the night and dream about our cruise !
