Snorkel in Cozumel - Help!

First time cruisers here in 3 Days! We really want to get in some snorkeling at a reasonable cost, however, the ones available through Carnival seemed to be coupled with beach parties, etc. I don't mind a good party but I'd rather use the time for snorkeling and save the partying for the night time.

We're looking into different excursions that aren't offered by Carnival.

What has been your experience with these?
Are they easily accessible?
Do they usually offer weather refunds?
Are there any that you would reccomend?
We saw different ones out there but it seems like there are a lot of companies that offer the same excursion for another company.

Example: We found 4 different sites advertising Mr. Sancho's.

Has anyone tried the cooking class in Cozumel?

After doing a lot of research, we have decided that we want to go to Nachi-Cocom while in Cozumel. The only thing I have not been able to find out is what the cost is to go here. Has anyone been there recently?

Family trip via Fantasy out of Mobile ( Dec. 28th - Jan 2nd ) We will be in Cozumel on 30th and son and I are planning on doing some diving. Can anyone give me info that maybe has done some dive trips off of Carnival ships there in Cozumel. Anything will be appreciated. Wife and younger son will probably be looking for some snorkeling on their own so if you have info. on snorkeling trip, that to will be appreciated.

We will be in Cozumel on the Valor on Jan 29th . Does anyone know where we will dock and how to get to the ferry terminal from there? We are thinking of going to playa Del carmen to take the Rio Secreto tour.

Mr. Sanchos All Inclusive Beach?

We are looking for a nice beach, that offers all inclusive (we dont want to see prices or a bill when being there) and saw the Mr. Sanchos all inclusive with Cozumel Watersports.com or the Nachi Cocom deal. At Nachi you get a three course meal and open bar for $49. At Mr. Sanchos you get all you want to eat from the menu and open bar as well as snorkel equipment, ocean kayaks, beach towel and lockers included for only $50. We called Cozumel Watersports on their 1800 number and they answered all our questions, we just wanted to see if anybody has been there to have a review? Thanks!

Aventuras Naturales Horseback riding

Horse and Carriage Tour in Cozumel

Since this was our 4th time to Cozumel, we decided to shop a little and get to see some of the island. We stopped at Fat Tuesday's for a quick drink, when one of the locals told my husband that he could get that same HUGE Sol for $2 instead of $8 at the local 7-11 just across the street. (Go to the taxi terminal area, and cross the street to find the 7-11 store.) On our way out of the taxi terminal area, we found a horse drawn carriage. Pedro was the driver and the white horse (with a pink ribbon in her hair) was named Speedy. He told us a 1 hour tour would cost $55. WOW -- almost 4 hours later he returned us to the pier. (No, he didn't kidnap us. We asked him to stop for pictures and the beach and he gladly did. He said he had as much time as we did.) He took us to two lighthouses, a marina, private beaches, excellent margarita stands (and more $3 Sol beers), street side shopping, the Navy base, the airport, the President of Cozumel's house, the Catholic church and cemetary, and through some of the streets of the common folk. We felt very comfortable with him and never pressured. At our 30 minute stop at the beach, he watered Speedy and even washed her off with water (It was about 90 dg. I felt better knowing he took care of his animal.) We paid him $150 with a $20 tip and it was well worth it!!!

The company name on the back of the carriage was VIVA MEXICO. We saw several other carriages throughout the downtown area. Another couple on board the Inspiration with us took a ride, but were only offered 1 hour for $50 (two people).

My husband and I are looking for the best snorkeling/beach day in Cozumel, I've looked at Nachi and Mr Sancho's but is the snorkeling good? Are the reef's within swimming distance? I have been to Chankanaab twice before and the last time it was mostly sandy. NO reef and few fish, but great beach.

Chichen Itza ruins on Carnival Legend

I saw in the past that there were excursions to Chichen Itza, but I am not seeing that as an option on the Carnival Legend excursions to Cozumel. Do you think they will offer it? I want to stick with a carnival excursion since that would be such a long trip.
