After hrs babysitting...sibblings question??

Hello! I have a question, that I hope I can get a definite answer too:

I am going on a cruise with my son and my niece...just the 3 of us...my sister (my nieces mom is not going), so my question is:

For the after hrs babysitting, they say that they charge $6 per hr for the 1st child, and $4 for each additional child in the same "IMMEDIATE FAMILY"

Do you think that my niece qualifies for the "immediate family"

technically, I am her guardian for the duration of the cruise....

We are going on the Fantasy in the next couple of weeks with my 3 teens. (16, 14 & 12) they are very close and i know the younger one is not going to want to be separated from the others into a different group. Does anyone know if they will let them stay all together in one of the Circle C or O2 programs?

question about pre registering kids in the kids groups

I was trying to register my nephews in the kids groups. One will be in Circle C and I could register him, but when it said I was to print out the forms the pages would not load to print out. Has anyone else had issues with this, perhaps Carnivals site has issues.

Also why can I not pre register my nephew for the 14-17 yr old group, it says no pre registration available at this time. Anyone have an idea why.

Free soda pop in the dining room?

One of the blogged 'tips and tricks' that I read stated that kids get free pop with their meal in the dining room if requested. Anyone know if that is true? My kids won't drink enough pop to require a "soda card" but the occasional 'kiddie cocktail' would be fun for them. If I can include it in the price, then that is even better....Thank you in advance for your advice!!

Camp Carnival while in port... Has anyone used it?

On our last cruise we took our kids with us when in port. I have sinced learned that you can leave your kids at camp carnival while the parents go to port alone. I have no doubt that my kids will love camp... they loved it last time we cruised and I often had them begging me to go back when I would pick them up for lunch and dinner.

The thought of my kids being in camp while I am off on some island makes me a bit nervous. I know the staff is screened well and they have security procedures in place but I am still scared that something could happen and I wont be there. Has anyone used camp service while in port and if so, do you have any suggestions, complaints, or compliments that you can share with me?

Children under 2? Vacation elsewhere!!!

If you have a child that is under 2 - do not cruise!! My husband and I brought our son who is 1 year and 11 months thinking that even if they were going to be sticklers about the one month short of two and not let him into Camp Carnival we would at least be able to have access to a sitter on the ship for a fee - which is what was advertised! FAT CHANCE!! The babysitting was available mid-day on at sea days for 2 hours! And then from 10 pm - 3am (on some days) and other days from 1 am - 3am. Who in the world takes a sleeping toddler down to a playroom at 1 in the morning!!! What a rip off!! We paid full price for the little guy and I could barely even get a high chair for him in any of the dining rooms. We ended up eating most of the trip in the buffet area because of course he wouldn't stay still in the booster that was available. How does a ship that requires you to give age information before hand not even have enough high chairs around to put a child in. At best there may have been 10 on the whole ship and from what I heard there were over 700 children under 18 on the boat. Even if only 5% were babies and toddlers there still weren't enough seats to go around. My husband and I spent MOST of our time in our stateroom. Despite my complaints nothing was done to make anything better and all I can say is there is not enough information about this subject. I guess I'm the only person foolish enough to think that since cruises charge full fare for infants and toddlers when the rest of the travel world offers discounts that they would actually do something to earn it! Not so! Save your money if you have an under 2 child - even by a hair! Taking them on a Carnival cruise is a rip-off! Had I known I would have spent my money and vacation elsewhere!

I just got off the valor and found it awful that Carnival allowed kids to roa the ship to all hours of the night. I know parents are responsible but carival should set curfews and have more structure with the club o2. kids can come and go as they please, get rowdy, and I heard some ages 15 and 16 sneaking back to cabins with boys or girls. It is impossible to keep track of your teens because the size of the ship, Maybe carnival should have color coded bracelets so if staff sees a teen wandering past a designated time, they would contact the parents. A better idea is a locator system so parents can track the kids on the ship. Kids snuck liquor from ports onto the ship without parents knowing because they don't check. I would never take my teen again because there was too much peer pressure to cut lose and be wild,

I read a review by a kid recently that said Carnival was horrible and to check out their BBB rating. Well, I did and the rating was A. The only higher rating would have been an A+. I tried to get back to the post but couldn't. If I ever find it again, I am going to respond to the writer with this info. I haven't cruised any cruise ships yet but am going on the Carnival Destiny with my 10 yr. old son (he'll be 11 by then) in July of 2010. I can't wait! I am sure we will have a blast!

Does anyone know if the Sensation does the build a bear workshop? My kids saw this as an option on carnivals virtual tour but it says certian activities on certian ships. I can't find what ships offer it, I hope they do it on the sensation or my yougest is going to be so upset she is 6. Does anyone know and if so anyone know how much?

My daughter is 7 and very picky with her food. She does not eat a lot. Can you tell me whats on the kids menu. Last cruise we went on she ate pizza everyday and it was not that good. I was hoping they had a better selection on carnival.

I wondering if any has teen kids around my boys age leaving on 5/23/2010 for the Bahamas. I told them about the activities for the teen club and circle C. They both think that there will not be very many kids and that it's like being in daycare. They would like to hang out together but I hear the age group thing for the teen club stuff is pretty strict.

If anyone has any advice or info I would love to hear it. They are excited about the ports. I just don't want to waste $$ on them to sit in the room and watch tv all day because they don't have anything to do.

I would really like any past teen guests to relay some info to me so I can tell them more what to expect.
