Hi Everyone,

My family and I are looking into a couple of cruises to the Canada/New England region. Friends of ours have told us that it is very cold in the summertime, but we are looking to cruise there in early September.

Can anyone tell me how cold the weather really is??

Any responses are greatly appreciated.

Any one wish to share a cab from Boston to Salem on the Triumph sailing NY 12th Sept.There are 2 of us. Have been told its a lot cheaper to hire a cab.

Hurricane Bill Heading Straight for Canada/New England Coast

I was just hearing that Hurricane Bill is now heading straight for the New England and Newfoundland coast. That's the Triumph cruise area.

Does anyone know what the Triumph is doing because of this? Has it changed or modified its course?

I have not found anyone that is taking this cruise!! Is it going to be a ghost ship or what?? I am traveling with a group of 10, I am getting married on the ship prior to sailing and want to see who is going!!

Duck Shore Excursion in Halifax

I researched online and the duck tours are only 24.95 vs $40 as a shore excursion. I have read elsewhere that Carnival gets the better times and the others are open for walk ups. Has anybody taken the duck as a walk up and not through a shore excursion?

Boston excursion question

Has anyone done the Historic Salem and Witch Museum excursion before...if so, what type of vehicle/size of bus to they transport you to Salem in? My mom gets very car sick if she gets stuck in the back seat of a car or on buses...we were hoping it is either a smaller bus or she could request to sit towards the front (and have a good driver!!!), what are the chances? I am leaving for Canada in 53 days and I am amazed that nobody writes about any trips taken there. There are new posts about things to do places to see and all kinds of great stuff on every other page but canada. Is this because this cruise really isn't worth taking? It's my first and I am really excited but to hear that nobody else is going or has ever been it is making me worry if I have made a poor decision. Someone please tell me I am still going to enjoy myself even though I am not going to sunburn heaven.

Crusing with kids.. New England worth it?

Our kids are 11 and 12.. we've only been on one cruise, Disney, and loved it. We're planning to do a massive vacation next year but want to do something low key this summer. We're considering the cruise to New England/Canada..

Has anyone done this with kids? I'm not really sure it'll even be fun for me as I look forward to sand and pools on vacations.. I'm not really into 'shopping' and not really into admiring 'quaint'... We want to have some fun and relax.. get wet a little bit. Anyone have suggestions?

ok... me and some of my family will be going to Canada july 13 on triumph. FYI: I am 18 yr old. We have no clue what excursions to do. I was looking for something fun yet historical. I was thinking about bay of Fundy.

What all is there that we can do? did anyone really go scuba diving? or kayaking. I went to the bay of Fundy website and it seem like there's a lot to do. was just wondering if anyone who went on the cruise do those things.

We got on the ship in Jacksonville Fla on a Monday afternoon. Me and My Friend Paul have been on a Cruise 4 years ago. We decided that we would to take Paul's mom and her best friend with us, since they had never been on a Cruise before. We left betteen 430-500pm. As we where going out to sea we had a a light jacket drill to go though. We all meet in a bar in the ship as the place to would come too as it was our statiion place to meet in case we had to adandon ship. it didnt take long before the drill was over. we went back to our cabins then to go up on deck to see and wave bye as we left Jacksonville. We had good food and great intertainment all 5 nights. our Waitor had us in stichs as he jocked around with us. We had a whole day at sea on Tues. so we all just laided around and relaxed up on deck. Wed we made it to Key west. We got there about 700am. we went and got off and went walking around to see what we could see. we then took a one hour trip of key west. I realy enjoyed it. since this was the first time I had ever been to there. when we got off the tour bus. we went shopping for some sovanears. then we wentr and got back on the ship. Only thing about this was I wish that we could have stayed longer. Thurs we got to Nassau. we got to stay here way longer. in fact we stayed here from 1200pm-1000pm. we took a two hour trip of the island. our guide was a hoot. he droped us off at a zoo ,came back and got us and then took up to a place to bye some more suranears. Friday was another whole day at sea. Sat we got back to Jacksville. we tryed to get the captian to turn the ship arond he wouldnt. haha. just kidding. I do wish that we could have had at lease one more day. Would love to hear from anyone else that was on this ship too.

St. Martins/Bay of Fundy Shore Excursion

We are cruising out of New York July 13th on the Triumph to Canada. One of our ports of call is St. John, New Brunswick and I am looking at Carnival's shore excursion to St. Martin's. We have four kids and this excursion looked like a nice way to see a little more outside of the port of call.

Has anyone taking this one - is it worthwile?

Do you get a chance to see the reversing falls on the way to St. Martins?

We will be leaving this saturday for our 5 night Canada cruise and my sister-in-laws (with their two kids) are traveling with us. I understand that tippings are automatic charged to our SS cards. I would like to pay for my in-laws tips for the cruise. Does anyone know if i can have the tips charged to my SS cards while their souvenirs, photos, etc. can be charged to their own SS cards. Thanks in advance for your comments.

OK. This may sound silly. However, I really want to know.....

I have only been on cruises south (Mexico, Bahamas, Caribbean).... In 3 weeks, I am heading north to St. Johns NB (Canada).

Has anyone out there been on a cruise to Canada? What can I expect? I am assuming the weather is going to be chilly. I doubt we will use the pool (I am sure the kids will, and they will be blue). But, what about music? Will I still hear any "cruise" music? Will there be a pool band? Will there be "island" drinks?

Anyone who could share anything about this "Northern" cruise I would love to hear from you!!

i have been on the carnival spirt 2 times for the glacier bay inside passage out of vancouver and it was an awesome cruise and fantastic experience both times. i cant say enough about the wonderful staff, excellent condition of the ship and the whole experience of my cruising vacation. i love the culture, history and gorgeous sites that this cruise has given me.

my next cruise is on the victory too the new england/candada 7 day cruise in sept of 2006 and i cant wait. i know i am going to have a wonderful , safe and pleasant time as a single passenger . i am a true carnival supporter and will stick with them for a great vacation to be pampered and relaxed for all my cruises for a great cabin, service and entertainment for the price that is the best you can find.

keep up the good work carnival and i will always be ready to get on board one of your ships for my vacations in the future
