Just like any place you just need to practice common sense. The water is beautiful. The sand did have some shells, rocks and coral pieces in it. There were some local kids running around on the beach and when they came close to our stuff, I got out of the water and "dried" myself by our stuff. We walked into the BCH too and it is real nice but $20 X 4 people would be a big price for just a two hours on the beach. On the way back we did Senor Frogs which was so much fun. Even my kids loved it. There were plenty of kids there. It is touristy but very fun.

I also recommend the Adastras zoo, Pirate Museum and a quick walk around town and maybe drop into the straw market and that is plenty to do for our very short stop in Nassau.

I thought it was well worth the money. Had an absolutely wonderful time. We all had life vests on in the lagoon. The dolphins swam by and we were able to pet them. Then individually we hugged, kissed and danced with the dolphins. There was also a foot push across the lagoon. Two dolphins will push you by the heels of you feet .. Superman style!!! It was really a great experience. Blue Lagoon takes pictures and a DVD. You are allowed to take an underwater camera. Happy Sailing!!

Re: Beaches in the Bahamas

I just posted a question about the dolphin swim, maybe you can help me? How was it, was it worth th $185.? There is a public beach in Port Lucaya next to the casino. If you would like day passes that allows you to shower and use the hotel pools check the following link: copy & paste

I have not been on a beach in Nassau. I did a dolphin swim at Blue Lagoon and then the Yellowbird Party Boat that takes you to a private island.
