Does anyone know if hair braiding is available on Half Moon Cay?

Is the Atlantis Aquaventure worth it? Is there time to do other things too?

I'm travelling on the Carnival Pride cruise on November 15th. I've heard great things about the Atlantis, but am still looking for additional confirmation that it is worth $155 pp. By the time you get off the ship and shuttle over to the Atlantis, how much time do you really have at the resort? On our cruise schedule, it says that we dock at 11 am and depart at 10 pm. I'm assuming that for most of that time, we would be able to spend at the Atlantis, right? I also noticed that the Aquaventure starts off with a tour. Do you really need to do the tour or can you opt to go off on our own? I just want to get all my waterslides in :)

I am also a shopper so definitely want to visit the straw market. Is there time for everything?

I've also heard that you can book a room at the Comfort Suites and get access to the Atlantis. Rooms right now are going for $198 for the "night." I was thinking this might be easier (not to mention slightly cheaper) because then we have a place to store our clothes, valuables for the day other than worrying about not getting a locker. Plus, then we are really on our own and not tied to Carnival's itinerary with the tour and other extras we may not be interested in. Thoughts?

Just trying to figure out the best option. Any insight would be great!

Day passes at British Colonial - Nassau

Has anyone ever done the day pass at the British Colonial? I contacted the hotel. Said it was $40/person which includes access to the beach, pool, chairs, towels, and a $30 food/drink coupon.

How late do the taxis in Nassau run?

How late can we stay at the beach? The ship leaves at 10pm, but I know when we went to St. Thomas the island shops etc closed @ 5 pm. I plan on returning in plenty of time, but how late? Thank you

Rent a Room?

Has anyone does this? We're thinking of booking a room a the Comfort Suites just for atlantis access. How does this work with check in? It says check in at 3:00 pm. We get there at 8:00 am. Can we get our wristbands that early? We don't even want a key to the room. Also, does this include the dig, and aquariam at atlantis? Thanks for any help.

First cruise with my daughters what to do (Bahamas)

This is my second cruise but first with my three daughters. What is a good exersion to do with children age 11, 8, and 6. I thought about dolphin encounter at first stop in Bahamas but not sure if they will be scared. A lot of money fot them to chicken out has anyone brought kids this age on this exersion. On the second stop we though about blackbeard treasure hunt and beach adventure is this a good choice.

On my firsy cruise I went snokerling which was the cooliest thing I have ever done thought I was in heaven. The second stop my husband and I got suckered into an Atlantis tore that was horrible said we will go to the beach for the day next time. Any info will be greatly appreicated. Thanks

Botttom Fishing

We are from texas and are going to do the bottom fishing in Freeport. Do we have to have a fishing licenses? Is it included in the price? How does that work? This is our first cruise and were not sure how it works.

snorkling in Nassau

We booked the Catamaran Sail and Snorkle excursion in Nassau. Has anyone done this and how far do you have to go to get to the Catamaran? Just wondered if it’s close to where the cruise ship is docked. Also, is there a place to change into your bathing suit and out of it at the end of the excursion? Thanks in advance. Half Moon Cay: Booking Excursion ?

Hello everyone!

My family and I will be travelling on the Fascination in a few months to Half Moon Cay. The excursion I want says I cannot book online but have to wait until I'm aboard ship. The excursion is of course "limited" as well and I feel that it will sell out fast.

My question is...is the shore excursion desk open as soon as boarding commences? Last time I cruised I headed straight to the deck for lunch and didn't even pay attention. If it is open as soon as boarding is allowed I'll know to go straight there instead of eating next time =)

Atlantis Beach Day (carnival excursion)

Does anyone know if this excursion includes pool use? I know it does not include the waterpark, but what about the use of the hotels' regular pools? I'm assuming that not all the pools are part of the aquapark. This excursion is for 5hrs, lunch is included and the cost is $89 for adult and $59 for child. Any info is apreciated. Thanks!!

How long does it take to get off the ship in Freeport?

I have never been on a cruise before and need to know how long it takes to get off the ship in Freeport. The itinerary says we arrive at 9:00 am, and I would need to get a cab and be at the Radisson Hotel by 10:00 am. Does anyone know if that would be possible?

We will be in Nassau in Dec. and are planning on going to Atlantis for our excursion. Reading the bio on the excursion page, there are 3 different excursions going there. What can anyone tell me about them that will help us make up our minds which one to go with. Help please.

dh and i are celebrating our anniversary with a cruise :D and are planning to do some light shopping in the morning at nassau, then hit a beach after lunch. on my last cruise, we went to cable beach (i *think*, it was right behind two or three hotels) but i have heard tell of cabbage beach, and it sounds wonderful.

is it still free? are there still drinks? can i still rent a chair? i found some threads a few months old, and wanted to know if anyone had been there recently and still loves it.

also, if anyone reading this is on the sensation 10/4 and wants to buddy up on a cab to port lucaya in freeport and/or hop on our possible cabbage beach adventure, chime in :D

Panhandling

There is a co-worker of mine that has been on a Bahamas cruise before and suggests that no one ever goes on a Bahamas cruise b/c of panhandling.

He said a lady came up to him and put a bracelet on his wrist before he knew what she was doing and wanted him to pay for it.

He says that he has seen more panhandlers while off the ship in the Bahamas than ever before.

I am excited b/c I want to check out Atlantis and have heard so many good things about it.

what happened to blackbeard's excursions?

I was wondering if anyone know what happened to all of the Blackbeard excursions. We are traveling on the November 21 cruise and I went on to book the excursion with the stingrays and now it isn't showing up along with all of the other Blackbeard excursions. Does that mean it is sold out or that Carnival dropped them?

Sensation Cruise to Bahamas....1st cruise

We hada blast! I traveled with my sons, ages 15 and13. They met some new friends, and truly enjoyed the ship! We took a snorkeling excursion in Nassau, and it was the best! We had never done anything like this before, and we all were so impressed. The ocean is as beautiful as pictures and the ocean life was amazing!!! The crew memebers on the ship were always very helpful, and it was an enlightening experience to meet so many people from so many different countries. Our steward Putu was very personable, and always took care of our room while we were out, and anything else we needed. Love the towel creatures on our bed each night.

I would highly recommend a trip like this families with older kids. The water slides on the boat were great, the shows in the lounge at night were Broadway level. Food was fabulous! I can't say enough about the wonderful time we had.

It was would have cost just as much is not more to pay for gas, hotels, food, not to mention the driving time. This was in our price range, and everything was included and done for us! The ship was clean, and the retro style was so cool! Even my kids thought the 80's theme through the boat was very cool. Great 5 or 6 days vacation for the family. We can't wait to go back!!!

FYI....save shopping for the Nassau markets. They have more to offer than Freeport. However the Bahamian people are kind, spiritual, and very interesting. The straw markets are great! Nice dresses and jewelry.

Atlantis- Can you just walk around the grounds

I'm trying to talk my husband in to the Atlantis beach day excursion. He's not really interested in paying around $90 for that. Can you just walk around the grounds and the casino? Can you only go to the beach if you pay for that excursion? Anybody know if you can just walk around and go to the beach on your own there.

Are there any really nice beaches for swimming and relaxing within walking distance to the ship? Just wondering so that we could go back to the ship and eat lunch then return to the beach. Or any input on the day pass for the Blue lagoon, I think the cost of the trip over and lunch is 45.00. Is this something that would be enjoyable and worth the cost? We would love to swim with the dolphins but this is not in the budget at this time.

Ok, our first cruise is on the Fascination in dec. and we have never been out of the country, we are choosing to not get passports, (for 5 people= $500)

So here's the deal- Nassau and Freeport- no excursions

Are we assured of getting a taxi in the evening back to the ports?

How soon should we be on the boat before it leaves?

I have so many questions and I just dont know what to expect, And I def dont wont us to be left behind and let my worrying hamper our trip.

Please any input
