Cab drivers

We decided to just take a cab and go to a few places and come back to the ship. When we got off, we had to walk the gaunlet with everyone trying to get us to take their cab. It was the place right there as you came out of the galleria. These guys wanted 20 dollars a person to take us to hard rock cafe - one way. Thankfully I had read that you just need to take one of the blue and white VW's so we did..5 dollars for both of us and he waited for us. Then he took us to the various places we wanted to see, took pictures of us, and dropped us off in plenty of time to enjoy the ship without anyone on it. Cost: he only wanted 5 dollars more. I gave him 30 total for a great ride and old memories of being in a bug.

The fort is right across the street and can easily be walked to. There was a police officer at the street to stop traffic to cross. Also, the bridge is to the left and a short walk.

Surfing in Acapulco

Has anyone gone surfing in Acapulco? Mainly interested in renting a board and finding/getting to a nearby beach that has small to medium waves for a novice surfer. Thanks in advance for any info.

Acapulco, Casablanca Hotel worth seeing???

Has anyone been to the Casablanca Hotel lately? I hear it is being renovated and is not worth seeing. We are going to Acapulco in March 2010 and wonder if it is worth seeing if it is still under renovation? Please share your ideas

White Water Rafting trip

Has anyone done this excursion in Acapulco? Any info would be great. I am looking specifically for the price as they all say the can only be booked on onboard.

I just wanted to drop a note about a cruise my kids and I went on last year. We took the Carnival Spirit Jan 3rd (I think) and had the time of our lives! This was our 3rd cruise so we knew what to expect and searched the web for excursions...this is where we found Rosie. She is a FANTASTIC tour guide and so well priced. It was me and my three kids, we saw everything Aculpuco had to offer, went shopping and even went to her home. I reccomend Rosie for ANYONE.
