First Alaska cruise for 8/3/2010

This will be my husband and I first Alaska cruise, can anyone help me out and tell me a little about the cruise. I think it is the Carival Spirit. I would love to read a review and anyother details like the day trip etc. We have not booked it yet but we will in a few weeks. We are leaving in 4 days to on Carnival Western Caribbean cruise.

This is our first time to seattle,spending 2 full days to venture out and i need suggestion.What are the places that are a must in seattle ? are there any tour companys in seattle?

The weather from what i read in may could be rainy and cold going to Alaska , what are neccesary items to pack and also any suggestions for tours . How many hours do we have on ports to venture out ?

Do you think the weather would be okay for a 2 year-old to Alaska? My daughter would like to go with me to Alaska next year, and she doesn't want to leave her daughter with relatives. My granddaughter went on a cruise with us last year when she was about 8 months old but we went to the caribbeans.

I am looking for advice from those who have taken the 4 day pre and post tours book thru carnival are they worth the extra expense? Do you have time to spend looking at the places visited or are you rushed thru and onto the next stop?

Does anyone have any information about the zipline in Skagway? Apparently, it is new. I was wondering if there is a website. Is it run by an experienced operator? I would appreciate any info. We are looking for something adventurous and fun to do that is still in our budget.

We are cruising July 1st through July 8th 2009 and would like to plan a private fishing charter in Juneau on the 4th. Looking to see if anyone is interested in a day of salmon or halibut fishing? We've used this charter before and caught tons of fish and had a spectacular time. We've noticed there are no fishing excursions available on this day.

The Spirit: In Dry Dock

Boatwrench was kind to share with us that the Spirit is now in 'dry dock'. I guess any lady needs a little paint and prettying up every now and then. Northbound or Glacier Bay confused

Does anyone have suggestions on which would be the best choice for a cruise. I am looking at Glacier Bay because of the roundtrip airfaire. As Northbound will be more expensive for one-way bookings.

Northbound Alaska: Can any one share which ports of call require a tender. My search for the answer has revealed Sitka requires a tender, but I'm unaware of any other. If you know the answer and would like to share, I would like to know in advance. I will be cruising May 2009. Thank You!
