Welcome aboard the 'Funship Paradise' on March 1-5, 2010, as Jen and I celebrate our 17th wonderful year together with all of our new and truly wonderful 'West Coast Carnival Family' - We're sure to have great fun together!

Just got back

I just got back on Friday from the 4-day to Catalina and Ensenada. We had a blast! The weather was perfect, warm even up on deck, and I never even wore my jacket once. Catalina and Ensenada were lovely. And the entertainment & activities were so much fun. We played bingo, participated in the trivia (winning three times!) and loved the shows, especially the R-rated comedian. The service was superb. Everyone bent over backwards to try and make us happy. I can't get over how nice and wonderful everyone was. My only complaint about this whole trip was the food. After the first night's dinner, the food got progressively worse. Breakfast was inedible. I understand it's hard to make breakfast for the masses, but the bacon and potatoes were truly disgusting. I had cereal and fruit for breakfast after the first morning. Sadly, though, the food in the dining room was also bad (minus the lobster). I had heartburn every night, and my boyfriend barely ate more than 3 bites of any of his dinners. We both agree that it was the one drawback to our otherwise amazing trip. Has anyone else had this experience on the Paradise? I'm not an especially picky eater with high expectations, especially given the sheer numbers they have to cook for, but it truly was not good. That being said, we're already talking about another Carnival cruise on another ship. Can anyone recommend which ships they like best?

Wine Country Tour

We are cruising on the Paradise Feb. 1 and I noticed that Carnival only has the Blowhole/Winery tour showing for Ensenada on the website for excursions to book. We really wanted the Wine Country Tour instead, which goes to two wineries. Our cruise is 78 days out, so is this why it is not showing for purchase? Do we need to wait until we are closer to our cruise date? I cannot imagine that it would be full. I thought I would ask here before calling Carnival.

Hey ship mates!

As you may know, I am attempting to work with Ramona of the 'Monkey Head Wasters Club' on creating 'commemorative' stateroom door magnets for our 'First Annual West Coast Carnival Family Cruise' in Baja Mexico on the lovely 'Paradise' this coming March 1-5, 2010!

Jen and I would like for all of us to get together and exchange signatures on each other's magnets at some point on the cruise. We think this would be a lasting and fond memory of our cruise together, regardless of whether you choose to hang them on your door! This would be a great tradition I think, and a good incentive to make this an annual event, regardless of the port or 'Funship' ! We are truly going to have a wonderful time together! (Jen & I want to mount our magnet in a frame with a group-photo of everyone aboard the 'Paradise')-

Please post any ideas & suggestions on the design and caption text of the door magnets! Those of you with good photos of the 'Paradise' to use as a good background can e-mail them to MMiller424@aol.com in jpeg format. And we can choose the actual photo to be used by whatever mutual decision process acceptable to everyone!

I will then get the chosen photo submitted to Ramona, then she will create a prototype to present to everyone for approval once the event caption has been selected- These magnets are very nice and only cost $6.00 each including shipping, so once the design has been chosen, those of us who wants one can order it directly from Ramona and add their own special touches and names, or even change them completely!

Have fun with whatever strikes you! We have plenty of time! And don't forget, stay out of the way of 'Granny' & 'Jethro', they are driving all around looking for more shipmate recruits! Help point them the way if you know of anyone wanting to head out west!

Travelling with senior family members. It would be great to network with other singles in the 35-50 age range who have similar interests. Planning on para-sailing on Catalina and horseback riding in Ensenada. Very active and looking to have a great time. Not really into the bar/club scene. If there are any classy and elegant single men who would like to make a connection, that would be great too :)

We are traveling with our two sons, 16 and11 years old. This is our first cruise. We're are all sooooo excited. I'm wondering if we should allow them to bring their psp's and/or gameboys. Anyone out there that can advise as to whether or not they should bring them. What do they have on board for them to play, and are they allowed to take them to the rooms, or are they able to play game systems in one location only that belong to the ship?

Also, our neighbors who've cruised ALOT (on another cruiseline), stated that there's a critics party held for those who are on a forum; anyone heard of this for Carnival? It just allows those who've been in a chat to all meet.

this is our first carnival cruise. we have done the royal carribean 3 day cruises until they took the ship away. My question is this..have any of you had issues with staterooms that smell from smoke? rccl didn't allow smoking in their staterooms and carnival does. It has us a little concerned. Any thoughts?

Has anyone out there been on the cruise for Christmas? Just wondering how they decorate.

Lost Ring - Paradise 10/26-10/30

Anyone going on the Paradise November 2nd? this is my first cruise, and I am so excited. Have booked a hotel in Long Beach Cruise and Park so that we can relax the night before and have a leisurely morning...... Any suggestions what time we should go to the ship. It says 1.30 but from a lot of post I read people go much earlier......? How long does embarkation take? any suggestions would be great Thanks

Ok,so I think I am officially "obsesed" with the cruise!...I log in several times per day, my cruise is still 45 days away...it could not come soon enough!

I am talking my son and my niece for both their 9th birthdays...and they don't know we are going, they won't know until we arrive at the cruise!...

Surprise...Surprise!! me and my sister have been planing it for months!

It's my niece's 1st cruise, my sons 2nd, and my 3rd...

I Love, Love Carnival!! I have been in OV rooms, and even the Suites, and the service has been spectacular regardless of where your stateroom is.

Anyone else is soooo obsesed with this cruise thing...jajaja!
