is there a karakoe set list online for the imagination? id like to go ahead a prepare myself, AND the other guests... haha

i have my doubts that this request is possible, but thought id give it my best shot...

We booked five rooms on Carnival Imagination sailing out of Miami June 1st - 5th. We booked our rooms with the EARLY SAVER PROGRAM back in March.

The good thing about the Early Saver discount is that if the rate drops on your cruise they will match the price. This does not apply to any of their other Promos (like past guest and military, which we qualified for but our CCL Rep put us under Early Saver b/c she said we'd have the opportunity to get a better rate once the rate drops).

So we have been checking the rates for our particular ship and sail date a couple times of week since we booked, as she suggested. TODAY, four days before we cruise, the rate has dropped down to $159 PP w/ a $50 cash back for the 1st and 2nd person in the room (sorry 3/4/5 person don't get the cash back but do get the discount).

If you're cruise is booked on Early Saver, watch those rates... Go to Carnival's website, choose your port (our was Port of Miami for example), choose your Month and Year, and your length of cruise. A box will pop up and show you available cruises... In our case there were 16. The 2nd one on the list was OUR CRUISE! June 1st, Imagination, same itinerary!... The price now is $159 PP and we originally paid $329 PP. So we qualify for the discount.

In our case we had originally chosen the "pick your own room option" so that's the deal that they're offering right now for $159 w/ $50 cash back (OBC if you've paid in full)... But if you have chosen the "pick your room category" option, the rate for a 4D room, for example, is now $139!!!!

By the way, you don't have to book through CCL to get this discount, use any TA you want but book through early saver and you qualify!

Other categories, etc. are available for this discount. My suggestion is wait until that last week until you go on your cruise and check the rate daily. When you find a better rate, go to:

www.carnival.com/earlysaver

And toward the bottom there's three links. The middle reads "Price Protection Claim Form". And fill it out for each booking number that you have. It will ask for your first/last name, booking number, ship name, sailing date, what deal you found on the internet that beats the price you paid, and where you found this pricing (ie.. your travel agen'ts name or carnival.com, etc.). Then there's a comment box that offers you the chance to explain an circumstances etc... For example, on mine, we did tweek our reservations a couple of times. Originally booked under Early Saver Pick your own room deal, but we added a person to two different rooms so I don't know if that changed the Early Saver to something else... Just giving them the info so they'll understand..

So whenever you book w/ carnival on early saver, remember this info and use it! it is going to give us back, I am expecting about 1/2 our cruise costs on 15 people! WOW!! It'll all be on OBC since we're paid in full BUT that's okay, I'll drink some, enjoy the spa, gamble, and shop on the ship with that money... not to mention use part of it for our pre-paid gratuities. What we're doing is taking our total savings and dividing it by 15 ppl so we all get a piece of the pie!!

Just remember, this early saver refund thing is must be completed at least 48 hours before you sail. Today is Fri and we sail Mon so I I think we have got the best deal we can get.

Also, one more not.. If you find the room cheaper and ill out the form then later find the room even cheaper, you can fill out the form again and take advantage of the price drop multiple times!

Bayside (Miami) to Imagination...

1st crusiers... a quick review before we head over the bridge to get on Imagination... we've had a great time in Miami... Cab from airport to Holiday Inn at Port Of Miami cost was 21.00 plus tips... by the way, the Holiday Inn is nice & comfortable... we landed on the 10th floor, which is the top... nice view... Bayside/Port Of Miami is filled with lots of shops, bars, & eateries... it was a fun time & a great start to many more parties to come... we had Bubba Gumps for supper... it was a little crowded @ 5:30... now, we are just hanging out, waiting for time to cross the bridge & enter the Fun Ship... I'll post a Imagination review next week when I get back home... as for now, Bon Voyage... (sorry for any misspellings, I wrote this from my phone...)

how do you know, in advance, 'when' you want to do these kinds of things? What if the 'trivia game' that I wanted to do is going on when I had previously booked my appt?

Anyone have capers for the Imagination? Or those going soon- would you post them online- I know they change but it would give me an idea.

Some thoughts about alcohol in staterooms

Many people want to have a drink in their room and wonder how to do it.

You can call Carnival Bon Voyage office at Carnival Cruise Line and order the bottle of your choice and it will be in your room when you enter your cabin. For example, Skye Vodaka is $40. I know that is a little steep but if you figure out the price of a drink at the bar at $6.95 plus 15% versus this price. . . it is a steal. You could bring your own mix in your bags.

Call Carnival Bon Voyage office at Carnival Cruise Line and price the bottle of your choice.

I just returned from the Carnival Imagination on the 4 day cruise to Key West and Cozumel Nov 2-6 2009. I was a first time cruiser.

We had a great time. There were some items that were great and some that were not so great.

Embarkation: 30 min from time of drop off to get on the ship. We were dropped off at 1pm and were walking on the boat at 1:30. Pretty good if I have to say.

Room: we were in cabin R 128. We were allowed to go right to the cabin once we got on board. Most of the luggage was delivered by 6 pm. One piece, was delivered to the wrong room on the wrong deck. Luckily the occupant of that room brought the bag to my room. I was surprised at the size of the cabin. There was enough room for me to maneuver in the cabin and I am not a small guy. Biggest problem is the toilet would not flush for the first 6 hours and of course we found this out after we used it. I called for the room steward, got a busy signal. Called the customer service desk and it took 6 hrs to get it fixed. We did not meet the room steward until day 3. The in room TV had to be fixed 2x We didn’t get to go to the debarkation talk and wanted to watch it on the tv. We would get some sound and the screen was completely white. The first time it took about 6 hrs to fix the 2nd time was about 45 min

Cruise director: Brad. Was a trip. The asst directors were great as well George and Meyer.

Food: The food was great, except the pizza. I was raised in NY. The Pizza on the ship was no where close to being good In my opinion it was Horrid. Waiter and asst waiter were excellent got what I asked for in a reasonable amount of time

Casino: Staff was great. Left toooooooo much of my money there.

On board Activities: I actually won 4 ships on a stick. 2 for sports trivia 1 for the Match Game with my wife, and I was selected to play in the Game show mania game and won that too. I guess I am filled with useless knowledge. (AKA BS)

The shows were top notch. The comedians were hilarious. The one thing carnival needs to work on is where to let people stand once they get to Standing room only. We got to the late comedy show a 1/2 hr early so we could get a decent seat. Once the seats started filling up people would stand anywhere. We had a group of 6 people sitting in a booth and people would just walk up and stand in front of you. They need security to come and move people out of the way.

My wife wanted to go to the art auction so she dragged me along, under protest (the casino was open). Do they really think people are going to bring 20K for a lithograph. We had marked 2 items I would have been interested in and they didn’t bring them up and since they would have been low dollar items they didn’t seem to want to even talk about them.

Key West: we didn’t do any excursions so we just went down town and walked around. We had lunch at the Hogsbreath Saloon. They have a great Pulled pork sandwich.

Cozumel We were going to do the Deluxe Playa Mia Beach Break package but it was raining when we got to Cozumel. We picked up a few souvenirs at the dock and hung out in Fat Tuesdays. The show at Fat Tuesdays was pretty good They have a stripper pole and well some of the ladies took advantage of it. We even had a couple of ladies oblige the crowd when they were chanting Show your T - -s The Pina Coladas are great

Behind the fun tour was excellent. I can’t believe how many people can’t read or hear. They tell you that you must wear closed toe shoes NO sandals or flipflops cell phones or cameras. They had to send people back to their rooms to get shoes and they took about 4 or 5 cameras and phones away.

We started in the galley spoke to the chef for about 15-20 min. then we made our way down to deck 3 and saw the laundry , dry storage, the Liquor Locker (No samples dang it.) Saw some spare engine parts in the marshalling area Large pistons ( about 10” in diameter the rods were over 1 ½ ft long. Then we got to go to the Engine control room.

From the engine control room we went to the crews mess, lounge, gym, and the Bow of the ship. The bow is the crew smoking area. They have their own pool their.

We then got to go to the bridge and got to see all the navigation equipment and talk to the quartermasters that were operating the ship, along with the Captain We took a picture with the Captain at the controls of the ship. While we were on the bridge we were about 24 miles off the Cuban coast

The picture was delivered to our cabin along with chocolate covered strawberries. At the beginning of the tour we all received a baseball hat and lanyard. At the end they gave us some wristbands (The heavy rubber type like the LIVESTRONG bands.)

This tour cost $55pp and I think it was worth it

Debarkation we had group 22 and were in the last group off the boat. It took about 25 min to get our bags once we were in the baggage claim area. Customs clearance was a snap and that took only a few minutes.

We bought some of the pictures that the photographers took a little pricey. I worked as a photographer in the off season shooting wedings etc and their prices are double mine for an 8x10

I hope hope to do another cruise again soon.

Booked this cruise for my 40th birthday, on the 18th. Just me and my 14 year old. Never cruised without other adults, this will be a first but I plan on having a good time mingling and meeting people from all over.

I booked BEFORE my daughter brought home her report card yesterday and at the bottom says, MID TERM EXAMS Jan 19-22.

OMGoodness! Went to the office and they said to not worry about it, just get with her teachers and maybe she can take them early or when she gets back. Whew!

I booked this with my best friend, but she may not be coming... I did early saver, so it was cheaper to just keep it for myself, and hold onto the hope that at the last minute she will make it...
