Destiny itinerary changes for 11/21/2009 cruise

I was just informed that the Destiny is having engine problems and the itinerary has been changed. I don't know why they waited until the last minute to inform us. Does anyone know more about the engine problems and does anyone have any reservations about sailing with the problems? I still want to take the cruise but my friend is hesitant.

My husband and I are scheduled for our 1st cruise on 07-26-10. This is our 25th anniversary. Our TA booked us in room 7244 on Empress deck. Has anyone stayed in or around this room??? Would appreciate any reviews.

I am booked on the Destiny for Feb. 27 2010 to Grand Cayman and Ochos Rios. I was told I had to wait 90 days before I could book any excursions, but I logged onto My Cruise the other day and noticed there were some excursions available to book but only like 10 12 ish or so. And there werent any for Dunns or some others I had originally seen. Because if I go on the Home Carnival site and look up shore excursions in Ocho Rios there are pages and pages of excursion options? So Im wondering if anyone knows how this works, if more will show up as time gets closer or if these are really all that will be offered? Thanks to any help.

"L" shaped balcony rooms aft on the Destiny

Does anybody have pictures or details about the "L" shaped balcony rooms near the back of the Destiny? Do the rooms also have a couch?

My husband and I are taking our very first cruise in 15 days and I just had a couple of last minute questions?

Are there hair dryers on the Destiny?

Shampoo/Conditioner and soap dispensers? What brands do they use?

Are you able to keep the balcony doors open at all times?

Is there table and chairs on the balcony?

Are there bathrobes in the staterooms to use? Beach towels?

Shore excursions, we are looking for something relaxing for the Grand Cayman and Ocho Rios (no Dunn's River Falls I'm terrified of heights). Any beach suggestions?

And we are on a pretty tight budget for this cruise, what is some advise to make sure we have a great time and not have to spend a lot of money?

Sailed on the halloween cruise and enjoyed the trip overall. Wanted to give you a heads up on a couple of things. First, I became sick after eating twice.One of the waiters said to use caution with the soups and salads! They tend to sit for a while before being served. Staff in the dining area was horrible. The first night they ask if you would like water,deliver a bottle,open it and of course, charge you.They made it appear to be part of your meal. Dining partons were not happy that night! Cabins were fine and found the ship to be very spacious and clean.

The trip to Myan Ruins Tulum ,well worth the price and takes a full day.You travel by boat and then air conditioned bus. They stop at a tourist gift shop on the way. Childs shirt was $12 at the shop and $6 at Tulum.

Overall ,.I would sail again on this ship again but avoid certain food choices :)
