Well for all that love our Elation going out of San Diego...she is leaving and going to Moble AL she will do 4, 5 and some 7 days cruises out of Moble starting in May. I feel like I will be losing a good friend...Owe well maybe I will go to moble someday and say hi to that old friend! (if you go to Carnivals web sight and look in news you will see that post.

2 Single ladies taking a 3 day cruise to Ensenada Mexico11/23/09 and unsure what to expect when we get there. Our ship arrives at 8 and leaves at 6. Will we be needing transportation when we get off the ship or is everything nearby? Any suggestions?

Also how much does alcohol run on the ship?

Elation Itinerary After Apr 30, 2010

Does anyone know what is up with the Elation after April 30, 2010. I was planning our cruise schedule for 2010 and noticed I there was nothing on the list after that date. Anyone have any idea? I know it just came out of dry dock. Is it going back in? Thanks.

I am getting ready to do booking for next October, and wondered if anyone could make suggestion on which rooms I should try for. I was on the main floor of the Holiday and was able to come aboard and disbark just below my room. Can't wait for Elation to get to Mobile. Any suggestions are welcome.

What can I expect on a first time on a cruse ship?

We are going to Ensenada / Elation in Oct. with a group of 10 people. Previously we've flown to Europe and Asia and stayed in 4 and 5 star hotels (Westin, Conrad, Hilton, Sheraton, etc.). This looks like staying in a hotel that we can't leave. Will we feel the ship move - we're on the upper deck in a U80's room. We like to order breakfast in the room, can we get anything? What is the cost for beverages, like bottled water. (If I'm paying $400 a day for a room, $4 a bottle for water is gouging). Does the TV get anything besides PPV movies (CNN or Fox News). Can we eat on the Balcony? Are there lines for the restaurants? Can I tip the hostess to avoid waiting in line? Is $20 the right amount? Is there a European pool area (clothing optional). Do the beds match the Westin? What is there to do besides eat and the Spa? I'm not interested in shows, casino or the clubs, I live in Vegas and nothing matches the Strip for entertainment. Does the ship supply amenities for the bathroom? Do they supply bath salts for the Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom? I see there's no hair dryer, what else would I need to bring? Are there chase lounges on the Balcony? How much do I have to tip to guarantee lounges at the pool? Are the balconies private (can't see anyone else)?

Anyone going on this quickie cruise to Ensenada and Catalina? This is my 9th Carnival cruise and 3rd on Elation. Just got back 2 weeks ago from Carnival Destiny 6 day Bahama, Grand Turk and Half Moon Cay cruise (second time for that one) and I'm already chomping at the bit.

By the way, if you ever go to Half Moon Cay get a group together and get the Private Oasis. It's not on the excursion list...you have to call and arrange it. Free food, free booze, free snorkel gear and hot tub and your own Carnival Staffers to see to your every need. Magnificent!

p.s. I'm checking all the future cruises looking to see which ship will get my Platinum cruise....Can't wait!

I loved my 1st cruise so much on the Holiday that I have booked 8-28-10 on the Elation. I know that the Holiday was an older and smaller ship so I am really looking forward to sailing out of Mobile on the Elation. Hopefully by booking early I'll get some obc.

My whole family just returned from a cruise on the Elation to Baja, Mexico. Once again, Carnival did not disappoint. This was the first time that we have cruised out of San Diego. It was so quick and painless to board this ship. From the moment we got to the terminal to the time we sat on the deck for our DOD was less than 30 minutes. Everyone was friendly and always willing to help!

The ship was really clean and the staff was courteous. My only problem was getting around the ship. After 4 days I still was getting confused about which elevator took me where I wanted to go!!

I want to say a big Thank you to Maha in the Dining Room. He was the best! My dad has Parkinson's disease but he doesn't want to let it slow him down. When he gets tired, the "shakes" increase. Maha took the time to actually cut all his meat up for him, and really helped to get him in and out of the dining room. All the while making us feel very comfortable. We actually also had a waiter that we had met on our last trip to the Mexican Riviera. Inky remembered my niece and made a point to show her his magic tricks and make her feel special!

Debarking was a breeze! From the time they called our zone number to the time we were off the ship was about 15 minutes! The biggest problem we had was that the parking area next to the terminal lost power, and they couldn't get the gates to go up! But, a nice representative from Carnival came over and got the problem solved. We spent more time in line to get out parking than we did at both embarking and debarking! Thanks Carnival! I can't wait to book my 6th cruise with you!
