You are like kids at Christmas time. Wish you smooth sailing and good weather. Take good care of the Triumph as I will be taking my first cruise on her in November. Poconos, if you would, please write about your cabin when you return. We are in the same one and I have time to change if it is not perfect, but I am sure it will be. Enjoy your cruise to the max.

Here are a few answers from a repeat cruisers' point of view:

Since Panorama is the uppermost deck, if there is any "roll" due to heavy seas, you will experience it more than others.

No fridges that I've encountered, but the stewards are ususually quite good at providing ice and all other amenities upin request -- and often before you know you want them.

Deck hogs? Sure, but that's no surprise given the number of different personality types. Finding a nice deck chair is usually easy.

Formal nights -- Sainted Wife Mary Beth She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed -- tells me that there will only be one. I wear my wedding tux, just to get some use of it, but I find the formal nights merely dress-up fun. It's what you make of it.

Safe size -- relatively small, perhaps one-third of a cubic foot. It'll hold your passport, wallet, some jewelry.

Radio and alarm clocks? Nope. But the TV will give you some audio and stewards will wake you.

Final, unsolicited advice -- dress for the climate; we're not going to Jamaica, mon.

Be well.

Earl Carl

Re: Score!

Whoo Hooo 1 week left ,This time next week I'll be in NYC eating breakfast getting ready to head to the pier ..

Re: Score!

Hey Joan, Thats great , I hope to enjoy cruising and if so You can bet on us taking at least 1 cruise a year to start

Re: Score!

pocoos We were a lot older than you when we started buy we have made up for lost time. We try to cruise several times a year, so many ships, so little time. I am thinking you posted a typo, but would not want to see you disappointed over some miscommunication. If you got an 8G on the Upper or Empress deck, then hooray for you. If you got an 8E on Panorama deck, it's still great. I am on that deck in November and booked early just to make sure I got it. Wherever you are at, it will still be super good. Happy sailing.

That was a typo. You are correct, it is an 8E.

Of course they called me today to try to upsell to a suite. I told her that the price she was quoting me as a "special" was the same rate that has been on the website since I booked in May and that it was about twice as much as I paid. If she could knock it down to an add'l $100 per person I would consider it. (Obviously, she wasn't amused.)
