Going single on a cruise

This is my 8th cruise, all on Carnival. I have gone by myself on 6 of the 8 and always have had a great time. My last cruse in July of 2007 had me at a dining table with 6 women and I was the only guy!! I even won a gold plated plastic trophy!! There is always lots to do and lot of people to meet. I never get bored or tired. Only one bad cruise on the Holiday when most of the AC was out in the ship two weeks before dry dock.

Travelling with senior family members. It would be great to network with other singles in the 35-50 age range who have similar interests. Planning on para-sailing on Catalina and horseback riding in Ensenada. Very active and looking to have a great time. Not really into the bar/club scene. If there are any classy and elegant single men who would like to make a connection, that would be great too :)

I read about some single cruisers who want to meet other singles but that the "singles" events seem to be poorly attended if at all. Is it not wanting to appear desparate? Worried about age range? Concern for "looking for sex"? If you have any tips to share for how you mingle with single scene, please share.

How does Carnival charge you for your stateroom if you are traveling "Solo"??

I have gone online for a quote, and I see that they charge you the same as for 2 people...

even in the lowest category.

Is it different if I call?? would I get a better price??
