And seems like they want to show food off more then us eat it. And was I glad to get off the ship so I could just have some junk food.Like a donut,,bag of chips. Just things we all eat when at home. Also to have fun on there they want you to stay drunk!!! Well that would be ok if drinks were not $5 to 7 a drink.Come on now!!!! If you were at home going out you would not pay that kind of money for drinks. So they push it and then set crazy prices. And they get the stuff for drinks cheap......Why not come down on the price and maybe set a fee for the whole cruise,,they serve special drinks each day of the cruise,,You could sale them for cheap...one fee!!!! Then the price of pictures is to high.$20 for one 8/10. This is 2009 most of us take pics that are very nice without your $20 for one. Set tips are bull!!! what if I don't want to tip? Not all works are good ones. If I ever go on a cruise again I will ask a lot about it before booking. I almost forgot!! you have to pay a fee to drink pop also...

Look we all are looking to save money!!! So why not help where you can.

Dream

Carnival Dream (nightmare)..this ship is the worst in the fleet...its a shame carnival dont read these comments and response to them...they could improve their guest relations...but it seems they really don't care about feedback from their guests..will never book another carnival cruise.....

Midnight Chocolate Buffet?

We need that chocolate at night. I enjoyed it on past cruises and look forward to it on future cruises. I talked to F&B Mgr and Maitre d', they said Carnival cancelled it. I was on the Ecstasy and passengers on the Fantasy said, " They do not have it either." My sail date was Oct 17, 2009. I really enjoyed the upgrade you did on the ship, because I cruised with you in Oct 2008. It was a great surprise to see the changes. Any advice to the contrary?

1. Two landlocked Canadians running for the border for October 5th Destiny Eastern Carib.Flying out of the U.S because our dollar *** just that much.

2. I have printed off all of documents including baggage tags ( laminated) and completed Fun Pass because apparently its faster.

3. Only one bag each plus one carry on. And wearing swim suit underneath or boarding day.

4. We can carry on two bottles of wine total and a six pack of soda each.

5. All sun block etc to come with us as it will cost 2 billion dollars on board.

6. We are booked for early dining so we don't miss any shows later on.

7. Booking all excursions through Carnival because if they are cancelled I will get the refund and if anything happens during excursion the ship will wait.

8. In Grand Turk - Ultimate Snorkelling. In Half Moon Cay... beach and beer In Nassau...still can't decide but it must involve the ocean.

9. Don't turn on blackberries as International roaming charges apply when they are just turned on.

10. Don't be late for dinner. Don't even think about it. And do not dress like a Canadian Hillbilly.

11. Do see as many shows as possible!

12. Enjoy, eat, sun, swim and have a fantastic vacation!

Beautiful place, but Carnival Spirit was terrible. We sail Carnival all the time and this was the worse cruise ever. The flights were all day w/connections and my parents were handicapped. Arrived at ship and they were closing down the lido deck and ran out of food. Cabin were dirty. tolets had poop and urine on them.A/C's were not cooling/ showers were overflowing. Crew members were more interested in talking to each other than cleaning tables even put down dirty cups on our table. For the money that we spent very unhappy. Also the excursions were very pricey and not worth the money. More bus riding then fun. One we were going into Canada and we did just to turn around and come back out. This was my parents 50th wedding ann. present and 1st cruise not impressed. Our second trip to Alaska and its still a great trip, but enjoyed the first cruise alot more. Will not sail on Carnival to Alaska again. They really need to change some things first. Spent alot of money for nothing to show for it.

Everything

...gets moderated here, probably because of the Anonymous tales.

Comment on Splendor Cruise-July 13, 2009

I just wanted to comment on the menu for dinner meals and especially the desserts.

I have travelled around the world several times, in fact, I have logged over 4.5 million air miles during my travels.

This was my second Carnival cruise (the first was on the Fantasy). I felt that everything on that first cruise was well within my expectations, including the uniqueness and quality of the main courses served and the desserts served after every dinner.

The menu on the Splendor was very not at all of the same quality as that on the first cruise. The first two nites were very common in both offerings and in quality. Any good 2 star dining room could have easily outclassed what was served. I was really disappointed! Even worse, the desserts were very unimaginative, lacked quality of preparation, and were very common! I have a background in pastry preparation and found the offerings very mundane/ Shame on Carnival! Whoever the head chef is on that ship; he needs to be replaced or at least retrained. How can you possibly compete with NCL and your other competition with that kind of food service?

I had wanted to start getting things together for my next Carnival cruise in 2010 but the food service and offerings on this last cruise have left a question in my mind as to whether I should seek another cruise line or stay with Carnival.

Not up to my expectations

I just got off of my first Carnival cruise this morning on the Carnival Imagination. From day one, I subconsciously started comparing this cruise with every other cruise line that I've been on. For instance, I am used to very attentive stateroom attendants and wait staff. Not once did any of them introduce themselves to us or addressed us by name. The food in the dining room was not good at all. The steak was very gristley and fatty, and the lobsters were the size of large shrimps. Also, worst of all, I fell on the upper deck where the water slides were... TWICE! The deck was wet, and I couldn't even get a grip with my shoes that had tread on the bottom. There were two maintenance crew members just beside me on the edge of the ship painting new blue lines, and neither of them made any attempt to assist me. I spent the majority of my cruise with stiff legs and bruised knees. There were so many drunk, unruly people swearing all over the ship. That would never be put up with on other cruises. I will say that the entertainment and Fun Crew Staff were really great, especially Cruise Director Karl (with a K). I was upset because I was really looking forward to this, and I was let down. Anybody else have a similar story about the Imagination?

Imagination July 13, 2009

I think the mandatory gratuity has definitely changed the attitudes of some of the wait staff in the dining room. I don't expect perfection and subservience, but I would like to get what I asked for on time without a comment or attitude. The cabin stewards were excellent. In this economy everyone can be replaced. Our U.S. dollars are paying the salaries and if the staff doesn't like it they don't need to be there. There were many very nice staff that seemed happy and were enjoying their jobs. However when one of our party was injured in a fall no one acted as if they even cared and offered no help. Even the doctor couldn't be bothered when he wasn't on duty in the middle of the afternoon.

Attitude is everything, Carnival.

We haven't been in over 2 yrs so we didn't think the shows would be the exactly the same shows but they were. So I wanted to suggest after a yr or two change the shows up. Next yr don't think we will travel on the Imagination will try another ship. Cruise director Karl was great and our waitress Jinkee was terrific!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trip ended with broken tail bone

We were schedule for a shore excursion on one of the two passenger boat in Cozumel.
We did have rough sea off and on through the trip.
We we went to the shore desk to ask about maybe canceling the shore excursion they said to ask the guide how bad it was.
We asked he said just a little bumps, OK maybe 3 ft waves is a little to them but to me it was one heck of a bouncing ride. Horse back riding would of been much softer.
The seat cushions were not attach to the boat so every wave we hit and my tail end would be in the air the cushion would end up on the deck and my butt end would smack the fiberglass/wooden seat.
My husband knees would hit the steering wheel causing him not to fly as high as i would , but he had bruising show up later that night.
I felt sore, but as the next day went on i got worse, thinking it was just bruising did not say any thing except to those that was in my group that was Friday . We left the ship on Sat. morning.
We had drove to New Orleans, let me tell you the ride home was horrible , could not fine a comfortable way to sit.
We had plan on drive straight through , that changed
After about 4 day of coming home finally said enough is enough went to Dr. had x rays and I have broken my tail bone in two different places.
I have not idea who to contact or what to do.
I do know that I will never believe those guides ever again they want the money and will lie to your face .
I also found out that other place was not letting kackes or para sailing or jet skis out because of rough seas.

We have been home since March 9th and Im still in pain sitting or triing to stand from a sitting postion.

Shore Excursion

We recently sailed on the Freedom and went to the Grand Caymen which we Iove very much. We opted to take the 4x4 Jeep adventure for the excursion. What a bad choice. It was so unorganized I felt there was far to much valuable time wasted on waiting for the one guide for about 10 jeeps, the guides jeep broke down, and then the cook out you had to wait forever to get a hambuger. Have sailed Carnival numerous times and have never been disappointed like this.Would not recommend this trip.

Unique Goal.

A Washinging State Man is planning a Unique goal to sail of of Carnival's 22 ships in a couse of a year.
She was difficult to deal with and when we made our reservation she had a medical condition listed for both my husband and myself (I was listed on dialysis and he was listed as blind).

Unlike your experience (and the wonderful help we received from our last PVP) she hasn't called except to try and push the vacation protection on us (and for that she has called multiple times and doesn't seem to want to take no for an answer). I never received a reply when I emailed her with questions either. I was happy that I got most of my answers from Carnival Connections though!

My first disappointment was with the "penthouse stateroom" In the on line photos, it apperar to be very roomy, but in actually its no big than a stateroom with a balacony on any other ship. Most of the ships I have experienced the regular staterooms have two or a split bath with a shower in one area and a tub in the other. The buffet food was the pits, its reminded me of a cheap Chinese Buffet. The on board safety drill was a forest, especially since we were on board during hurricane season. We met in the large auditorium and due to rain we did not go or were we shown out lifeboat stations. Since I work for the U.S. Coast Guard, I know the importance of this drill and I feel this should be report to the National Maritine Center. The pool was very small, in fact, my backyard pool is bigger you could only stand upright like a can of sardines and the supposely adult pool was just a round sauna, with the mail smoke area right above the adult deck area. Since we experienced bad weather, the entertainment on board left a lot to be desired.

My biggest complaint was on the billing process, during the cruise you were putting holds on my credit card, which was fine, because, I could tell what I was spending on a daily basis, however, once we were off the ship, you charged my credit card for the full amounts, leaving the smaller hold on my account for approx 4 days and I had to call and complain to get the holds removed. Once you took the final amount out of my account you should have released the other holds immediately, basically what it came down to was that you charged me twice, lucky for me I could afford this, but in the event I did not have double in my account or had other outstanding item, they would have been returned unpaid, costing me pentalies and/or additional fees.

There are other issues that I can write about, but this more than enough to let me know that I will never cruise carnival again and will not recommend carnival to any one, if they want a hassel free cruise.
