Just got back from the Inauguration/Naming Ceremony of the Carnival Dream. My daughter, Hailee is the godchild of the waterpark and she had some opportunities to speak with John and she just absolutely adores him. We also had the change to interat with him and he is hilarious...Carnival definately has a winner with him! I don't think he will be sailing with us next week on the Dream and Hailee is a bit bummed out over that...I think she wanted to race him down the slide!

We have been on quite a few cruises and I have to say he is one of the best cruise directors I have ever seen. I truely hope we get to sail with him again some day!

We are going on the Dream in July 2010 and I have a question. Since our 16 year old son is coming with us I was wondering if there will be laser tag on the Dream? I am concerned about him being bored. We have never been on a Carnival cruise before and we usually cruise with his boy cousins. This is his first cruise with his younger sisters and myself and my husband. Thanks.

Hello John Or Stephine....

I and My Friend will be cruising together for the third time together. This Time We are going to be on the Splendor Mexican Riviera Crusie on Oct. 18th Sailing ... We are wondering if John Will be on the New Carnival Dream or the Splendor... if not we can understand... but would you know who will be the CD on that sailing.

I had talked to John Heald in person when we meet this past spring and he promised that he would have someone from Carnival call me when I described some of the issues we had on our last Conquest cruise .... no call. I am not looking for compensation, just for the call that I was promised and to be heard.

btw, I was again on Conquest in May and again ran into similar communication issues, not as bad, but seems to be a theme on Conquest. We booked a last minute 1A port hole cabin. Our cabin steward continually did not have our cabin turned down 4 nights in a row. Each night I complained and he would smile and nod, and then again the next night not done. Thursday he finally blamed me!!! He said if I changed from late dining to early dining it was my responsibility to let him know, thats how he set his schedule. Why would a pax know to do this and why would I need to discuss this 4 nights in a row before he fixes the problem? (and he also didnt clean in the morning a few times). He also had excuses for everything, 4 hangers for two of us and didnt give my sister two pillows. He said usually only 1 person books a 1A, so thats why (excuses excuses). So I should have to call housekeeping multiple times and it takes 2 days for each to be corrected. Why couldnt he see two of us and just do it. Just as a aside, we have had the very best ever waiters on both Conquest cruises, so they are terrific. Its the purser's desk and housekeeping that seem to have issues.

I didnt write to Carnival this last time, as I keep hoping Carnival calls as promised. It was minor compared to issues on the prior Conquest cruise, but indicative of the communication problems on this ship.

I will be on Carnival ships 6 times this year, so Im one who will be giving you a lot of future business, I just think if Im promised a phone call by John Heald from someone at Carnival, then someone should follow thru. We had a great cruise on Ecstasy in between, and Iv booked Ecstasy again even though per day prices were higher than on Conquest, just because service is so much better and we love the CD. I'm old school, and expect a promise to actually be a promise, not BS. Is John Heald for real or not?

A while back on John's blog, I recall reading that Carnival would, upon request, set up a meet n greet for a sailing if you had enough people registered. I've sent a request to the email address that was given and even sent John a message on FB to see if they're still doing this, but haven't gotten any responses in over a week. Does anyone know?

We met John on Valor March 8- 15th. What a wonderful since of humor. We soo enjoyed all his talks, welcome aboard show and of course The Bed Time Story. Oh my Gosh we still are laffin. We so enjoyed our cruise our Ports of call and all the shows. Thanks Carnival We just keep coming back.

I just had to write to say that I absolutely LOVE John Heald! He has the best sense of humor. I was poking around on the Carnival site and stumbled upon his blog. I log on everyday since I discovered his blog, and usually end up laughing hysterically. I am soooo sad that he left the Valor today, and that he will not be our cruise director on the April 12th sailing. This will definitely not be my last Carnival cruise, so maybe John will be the CD on my next sailing.

Stephanie..............Since John can't reply.......can you tell me the exact date that Heidi is going home? He said October and we're going on the Splendor Oct 17th and hoped we would get to see her. I don't blame her after 11 years, but hoped she would still be on the ship when we were sailing. Today I received my copy of the Fall 2008 Currents, and must say that I've enjoyed reading the articles and viewing the photos. Lots of information has been shared, from Harley riding (in Alaska), to a 'shy' John Heald's blogger friends update (telephone in his bathroom) aboard the new Splendor. Now John has almost everything. Alaska......... I must see that upper state. Plus, the Dream is coming to Port Canaveral, "YES"!
