My family's first cruise at the end of May. No way I would let something of a missing person keep me away. I am sure there is a whole lot more to this story than we may ever know. However, it does not involve any of us, therefore, no way to stay away from cruising. I never set out anywhere thinking something might happen. I have no control, no matter what. I am gonna have fun to something I have looked forward to for a long long time. Cheers!

I would say don't cancel your cruise and for you and the family to go and have a fun time. There are people in this world that have health issues that neither you and I can control. The gentleman that fell over the railing on his ship must have wanted to do that because railings are high enough to keep people from just falling over by accident. If that man was intoxicated, depressed or both and wanted to harm himself then nobody on that ship was going to stop him. I am a retired police officer and have been to the western, eastern and southern caribbean and felt safe everywhere we went. Go and enjoy your booked cruise you will have a good time.

Re: Lost Person

I agree I think you should definately cancel if you are so freak out over something that is not in our control. What if another 1st time cruiser is reading this and this freaks them out.. Thats not cool!!!! The odds of anything happening to you are slim to none at all. You are just likely to eat tooooo much and get sunburned.

So put on your big boy or big girl panties and just enjoy the trip of a lifetime. Of those there was probaly about 20 to 25 percent that died from their injuries. If I were to live by your assumptions then maybe I should never get in a automobile again, that way I can never be injured in an accident. I deeply feel for this man's family but as stated by others there is no way to just fall off the ship. However alchol can play a major factor in ones own safety. Even his wife has stated that he refused to leave the bar with her at around 1am. Accidents happen but I for one will never let an accident that is a one in a million plus chance keep me from cruising.

Re: Lost Person

i agree some people .

Re: Lost Person

Well Said Scoutsaj

Re: Lost Person

Come on man Give it up.

People don’t spend a thousand dollars or more, to do foul play, or come on a ship to hurt people. They come on board to have fun, relax and unwind. There are too many unknowns about his disappearance to even keep this going. So why do you even morbidly curious adding this Post? We don’t know how many drinks he had on shore, or on the ship, or if any at all. If he was taking medications, or what he mental health was like, or anything about his home life was like. I really don’t want to dwell into this person’s life, because frankly isn’t any of our business.

So if you don’t mind please drop this post. A person was lost at sea! Let the investigators do there jobs, and let see what come of it. Please give him and his family the respect they deserve. If you want to dwell on this Person’s Death, than go for it’s a free country, buy you will upset some people, but if you don’t mind do it somewhere else. Once again have some Respect for the family, and don’t add any speculation to something we no nothing about.
