Hi! I want to create a new scrapblog, unfortunately when i click on it I keep getting a white screen - nothing, absolutely nothing! Am I missing something?

Requesting a New Catagory Under "On Board Fun" Called "Music Band Groupies"

Dear Carnival Connections,

My wife and I ahve been searching for a particular band on one of you ships for quite sometime. Then we discovered Canival Connections, and found it a great tool for information, suggestion, reviews and inquiries. My wife and Sister-in-law have been cruising with Carnival since the very beginning when Carnival just started out with the Mardi Gras (their first ship) which most people don't even know about. Including the Mardi Gras they have been on all of the smaler ships (Tropicale, Festivale) Except the Carnivale. Other ships include the Jubilee, Holiday, Fantasy, Ecstasy, Fascination, Sensation (Inaugural) Liberty and Freedom. Some of these ships they sailed with twice or three times. We are now a party of 6 and between us we have 34 Cruises under our belts with 2 of us on their first cruise in Dec. There was a band that my wife and Sister-in-law used to follow called "Music Society Band" the original members back then were; Cyrus, Rene, Freddie and Ike. Over the years they lost touch with them except for One band Ex-member which does not play on any of the ships anymore, but even He could not tell us where to find them. Prior to our cruise upon the Freedom last Dec. 2008 we tried to find which ship the band was on but were sadly disappointed when we came to nothing but dead ends. So we thought it would be a great idea to set up a web site, bet how do we get Carnival cruisers to find our site. Then we came across Carnival Connections......andwhat a better place to find you favorite Carnival Band then in a Carnival site. We finally did manage to find which ship the Music Society Band is on I must say it was the luck of the draw to find some one with that information. Then we were double lucky that Music Society band will be on the Liberty on Dec 2009 WOW what luck....since we already booked way before we found out about the band.

I (we) would like Carnival ro add a catagory under "On Board Fun" called Music Band Groupies" so anyone may post a review of their favorite band and share withall Carnival Cruisers which band is on which ship. Once the new Catagory is set up we can start different threads......each one called the name of a band. Inside the thread you should find our shich ship they are on. This way Cruisers "Groupies" could find out quickly without having to spend endless hours searching for keywords on the internet and blah, blah, blah. Instead precious time could be spent filling out our "R\Fun Pass" documents and picking shore Excursions and so on.

I am willing to bet that there are many more Loyal Carnival Customers that feel the same way about favorite bands. If you read this and a agree please con't hesitate to write a quick comments......you never know when yu might run into a Carnival Band that you really like....and perhaps some day you might wonder where they are today.

The weather was horrible and the boat was rocky as hell. The crew was great and they did their best to keep everything going well. The last day the boat was especially rocky and the shows were cancelled that evening, many on the boat including some of the crew didn't feel well due to the high seas.

Unfortunately my husband came down with food poisioning from the salmon he ate on Wednesday evening, it could have been the salmon or the mayo based sauce, who knows.

Even though it was a pretty lousy cruise, still the staff was wonderful. The were very friendly and helpful where they could be.

Honestly, I probably won't cruise for a while.

My daughter and I just got off Carnival Legend. This was my 15th cruise with Carnival and her 10th. She should have gotten her platinum card when we boarded but they gave her a new card and said this was her first cruise with carnival. After we boarded we went to the purser's desk and they said the same thing, her first cruise. After telling them that this was incorrect they said they would do an inquiry, two days before we get off the ship they gave her a new card and said there was a mixup with another person. She did not get any rewards like I did. I was terribly embarrased getting off the ship. I was assuming that in the past we could get off first if our luggage was sent down the night before (this was my fault for not paying attention) when I got to the front one of the women officers hollered at me and my family and said >>DO YOU HAVE ALL YOUR LUGGAGE? I said they are downstairs, she said, You HAVE TO GO BACK AND WAIT! I was so embarrased the way she hollered at me in front of strangers.. I wanted to tell her how rude she was but didn't and now I wished I had. I have spent alot of money on carnival, as a matter of fact my bill this time was $1800.00. I have always paid for other family members to cruise that have not in the past, to give Carnival money and show my family what its like to cruise and have fun. I know there are other cruise lines out there and I hate to change lines but I'm not going to be talked to like that when I spend alot of money on their ships. The food, entertainment and etc was great but I just didn't like the way I was talked to, she could have been a little nicer.

I was just wondering if carnival has ever thought to put in photo booths on the ships . We are going on our 5 and 6 (b2b) cruise in Jan 2010 and when we go on the ships I often wonder why they dont have them.. Think of the kids who meet new friends at club h2o or people coming back from a shore excursions who had a great time together with new people who couold jump in them to get a crazy little photo together. I was just thinking this would be fun to do and carnival is in business to make money so why not? Just wondering what you think?

That's it....My wife and I are sailing on the Dream in March 2010. I am already angry at Carnival and am near ready to file my lawsuit now. It appears that since I have been planning this cruise every time I look at the forums and someone mentions the Chocolate Melting cake I gain 2 pounds.

Therefore, right after I get done suing McDonalds for freezing my legs while holding a soda with too much ice in it I am setting my sights on Carnival.

Club O2 is a great way to keep teens happy but...I think the age limit should be 15-18. 18 year olds have more fun with that age group rather than older adults.

OMG! I just got back from Carnival VICTORY!! 7 days-eastern carribean...The customer service is terrible. After we waited at dinner, eating bread for 20 minutes, our cold appetizer arrived and then we waited for the rest of the table to finish eating then we were served cold under/over-cooked (depending on night) dinner!! Needless to say we stayed pretty regular (if you know what I mean). The waiters were so impersonal and they barely spoke english!! We stopped at several ports and several of them we paid with US dollars and was given Carribean money as change. The ship did not provide currency exchange nor did they accept the local money. Dominca should be taken off the route...it is very unsafe and dirty...(we were approached several times to buy drugs!!) Everything on the ship shut down no later than 2 AM, including bars, clubs, restaurants (ummm most of us are adults). .....Just know this is not the cruiseline to take...it's just not enough BANG 4 the BUCK$$$$$$$

I just wanted to let you all know at Carnival that this past Oct. 11 - Oct. 18, 2009, trip to the Carribean was FANTASTIC!! This was my first cruise ever and I had a blast! Chris is the one of the best directors....There was always something to do, never bored. Plenty of good food and it was like every one on the ship was one big happy family. I will DEFINITELY cruise again with Carnival. The service was excellent!! above and beyond what I could have ever expected.

Cont.. From prev. Blog. Carnival has yet to reply with an appology or any correspondanece regading the issues. We were very dissaponted and will not travel with carnival again if they cannot own up to there mistakes.

Am I doing something wrong? All posts/ pages on Connections are soooo slow to load and refresh. All other sites and pages including Carnival.com are lightning fast. Is it something on Carnival Connections? Is there a problem with using Firefox browser?

Frustrated. Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

Just wondering if anyone went through cws and booked the all inclusive all you can eat and drink for 45$ through this company? Just having a hard time booking an excursion ahead of time and wondered about this company..anyone know??Michele

Just Back From Conquest, OMG!!!

Just back from the Conquest and OMG what a great time we had. This was my second and my boyfriend's fourth cruise. By far, this was the absolute best we have been on. Everyone on this ship was so nice and pampered us. Very attentative to our needs and desires. Chris Jefferson, the cruise director was awesome and so funny! He along with the entertainment staff kept us laughing and on our toes. Katie, who is known on the ship and "Orphan Annie" because she looks just like her, was great! Loved her accent! Too bad she was leaving for vacation and was her last trip on the Conquest! And then there was Stitch and Jacob, all were fabulous! I cannot say enough about all of them. The dining staff was very good as well. Our servers were very gracious to us and very funny. Food was awesome in the dining room! Just for future reference to any future cruisers, order more than one lobster on formal night. And the chocolate melting cake was "to die for!" I bet I gained almost 10 pounds on this cruise...The shows were amazing! Miami Vice was my drink of choice, you should really try it if you like frozen drinks. The ship was beautiful. We met some really nice people aboard. We took the Western Caribbean so we went to Montego Bay, Grand Cayman and Cozumel. We booked two excursions for our trip thru Carnival and were very pleased. Anyone feeling adventurous should really try out the "Tranopy Tour" in Jamaica. You can book it with Carnival and it is at a place called Mystic Mountain. We boarded a very nice, clean bus in Montego Bay and rode across the country to Ocho Rios where the excursion was. The ride was an hour and a half long but well worth it. Got to see the mountains of Jamaica. Once we arrived, I knew the trip was worth it. The excursion consisted of taking a chairlift up the mountain, through the jungle. But as your being lifted, the scenery is absolutely fabulous, on both sides. One side is the ocean and on the other is mountains. Breathtaking is the best way for me to describe! Once we reached the top of the mountain, you take a bobsled ride thru the jungle. AWESOME, if you like roller coasters! Once off of that they take you to the restaurant on grounds and feed you Jamaica's famous "jerk chicken". By the way, it was great. After lunch you can do some shopping in the gift shop before you are brought over to the last adventure of the excursion, ziplining!!! I have to say, THIS WAS TOTALLY AMAZING AND FUN!!!! When we boarded the bus to return to port, there was nobody on that bus that did not have fun! There are many tours you can book but this one was called the Tranopy Tour. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to be adventurous!!! The next excursion we booked was the "Snuba" in Grand Cayman. This was totally fun!!!! It's kind of a mix between snorkeling and scuba diving. We went down about 20-25 feet and saw beautiful fish, a shipwreck and a coral reef. Very fun! Guides were excellent! We both had already visited Cozumel so we new what to expect. We did not book and excursion there, we just wanted to shop and walk around to take in the sights. Be prepared for the shop owners to bug you, it's endless!!! Overall this cruise was an 11 on a scale of 1-10!! The pictures that Carnival takes of you on the ship are very good. They are a little pricey, but once you see them they are so good some you just can't pass up. Especially the formal ones. I was so sad when we docked back in Galveston, I was not ready for it to end. This was the first vacation EVER that I had been on that I actually lost track of what day it was. To me, that is a true sign of what a good time I had!! Keep up the good work Carnival!!! Kudos to you!

How do I request and give seating for large groups

We have 10 cabins and 24 people.....I have given the information to the person I booked with at Carnival, but don't feel he is working with me. I think we clash.

Can I give seating arragements to the TA or CCL Groups or wait and try to do it when we board the ship. And I ask, what is the TA or the CCL Groups Dept Read something on cruise talk......

Carnival Splendor NIGHTMARE

Stay away from this ship! We just returned from the WORST trip ever. Let me start off by saying we normally stay in Marriott and Sheraton hotels. I expected a small room... I expected 3000 people... what I didn't expect was the following:

1. food was cafeteria style at best. we ate in the gold pearl restaurant every night and were rushed through the meal faster than I have ever in my life. 40 minutes and they were giving us the boot... "thank you have a nice evening...".

2. lack of respect to the passengers from the staff. I realize they are all from foreign countries and for some they come from very poor countries- but Carnival should train them better in regards to customer service. For this I blame Carnival not the staff.

3. the people. I know that Carnival can't control their passengers. I can tell you that the level of class on the ship for passengers was extreme low class. I am not upper class or a snob... I am just looking to share my space with people that are considerate, clean and polite. pushing and shoving like cattle was the norm at the buffet lines. seriously if you can't fit in the small bathroom as it is... skip a few buffet lines people!!! rude and pushy people thinking lines aren't for them. i'm sure they must have not been sold out with the economy and they only sail full... i guess they went to the locals and offered them the cheapest price ever... i can't see how these people could ever afford to spend the money it costs on a cruise.

4. lack of supervision with regards to children. we have 2 children and they are 11 and 9. they refused to go to the camp carnival because the kids in the 9-11 group were so misbehaved and the staff didn't even discipline them. i realize they can't go overboard with regards to discipline, but seriously they can at least tell them not to hit each other. there were kids roaming the ship at all hours alone causing havoc... throwing food at each other in the elevators, trying to go down the closed water slide with buckets of water, jumping from the top of the glass that separates the pool and hot tub... running and screaming around like animals. staff did nothing even when people complained.

5. the design of the ship makes no sense. the serenity adult only area is below the minature golf and water slide!!! seriously??? come on people think... kids unsupervised with mini golf clubs, balls and a sea of water?! "accidently the ball went overboard"... and when they missed overboard they landed in the adult only area!

6. never in my wildest imagination could i have imagined what happened when we left PVR. 3am we were awoken by banging on our door. I stepped out of bed in a pitch dark room to have 3 inches of water covering my feet. Did i mention we were on the 11th top floor? Spa level- pay more to be there!!! I opened the door to find out the entire odd numbered rooms on the 11th floor were completely flooded with water. 2 things came to mind... sewage and we are sinking. well it wasn't sewage- but in days to come it smelled in our room like sewage! it wasn't that we were sinking... it was due to the rain water coming from the pool area outside our rooms rushing in the cabins. there was apparently a need to slope the odd sided ramp outside down for those with wheelchairs. so you have an entire outside deck area sloping down hill into a drain about the size of a cantelope. the automatic doors were opening automatically when they sensored the rain and kept the water rushing into the ship. extreme bad design of the ship. I can't imagine this hasn't happened sooner. we were out of our room all night while they tried to put down towels and *** up the water with industrial vacuums. for the rest of our trip we were constantly disrupted. we had towels and large fans in our room constantly. we would leave our room to eat or swim and come back to have everything on our floor stacked on the beds... did i mention everything we had on the floor when it flooded was soaked and they did take them to the laundry- apparently washed them with the smelly towels and didn't use soap or fabric softener- they stunk and were full of white fuzz. management did NOTHING to help us out. the ship sails full so there isn't a room to move us to... management was basically like yeah- we are working on it. our room steward was awesome- worked his butt off. when all was said and done management refunded us 3 days of our trip because "that was all you were inconvenienced"... ok- true only Thursday at 3am through Sunday when we debarked at 10 but seriously??? it only affected 6 cabins total- they REFUSED to refund us our cruise. oh- they did give us a 25% off a future cruise- like I'm going to use that??? Customer service on the ship is awful!

Stay away from this ship! If you are looking for service and a nice trip... book somewhere else! we spent over $4000 for the cruise, $1500 for our flights and an additional $1000 on the ship (yeah- not everything is included! We didn't realize for our kids to watch the movie on the deck we had to pay for the popcorn!! and did i mention we didn't do any planned excursions?!) Go to a place where you pay $250 per night on a beautiful spacious hotel room... $1750 then with your flights say $1500... that leaves you with $3250 for food and activities... I think you could eat really well... do some activities that are safe and nice... because the excursions on the ship are not only expensive but Mexico is not a safe place... several people who paid lots of money for excursions were really dissappointed.

i plan to persue this with Carnival off ship management but wanted to warn you... stay away- if you are used to Motel 6 and buffet style restaurants go for it.

formal brunch would be nice

I think carnival should add a formal brunch on cruise days in the specialty restaurant. I've always wanted to try the specialty restaurant out, but find it hard to pay an extra 30 dollars when the main dinning room food is already very satisfying and plentiful. I would be willing to pay the price for a really nice brunch, especially if it includes some lobster or scallops, or steak for the hubby.

CARNIVAL SPIRIT

Hi! We did the 12 days cruise from Hawaii to Vancouver, BC on Carnival Spirit - April 2009.

Excellent cruise! I would do it again! We had a balcony, first time ever! Enjoyed the balcony during our 5 days at sea, after brekky would go on the balcony to read and relax until Lunch time.

Dinning Room food was fabulous, always a great choice. When I cruise I eat as much seafood as possible! Desert - awesome! My father loves the 24 hrs ice cream machine!

Loved the islands, my favorite was Maui. The ship was great and the staff was superb! unfortunately our cruise came to an end after 12 days!

crossing the Pacific Ocean was a little rough, the ship was great you just had the feeling of being a little drug, we didn't get sea sick, the dining room was always full at diner time. Carnival Spirit was a great ship! Loved Tea Time in the afternoon! Very popular once the word got around, you had to get there 10-15 minutes early or you would stand.

The whole cruise was a ++++++.

Adding a copy of Capers for each ship ....

I would like to see this site ADD a section where one copy of the Caper for each ship is posted and updated monthly.

This will give folks an idea of what to expect on each ship.

John Heald had said that Carnival was looking to add this feature somewhere ..and I think this would be the perfect place.
