IrishLiz is, as usual, correct. As a platinum, the staff does show a little more respect. The fee laundry is probably nice, but we didn't take advantage of it. Not having to stand in a long line at the pursers desk is sweet. The strawberries they delivered to our cabin had mold on them, but they were replaced within minutes of being told the condition they were in. The picture frames are nice. The priority debarkation, though not always desireable, came in handy on the last cruise. We went down to the pursers lounge at 0830 and were in our car at 0850. (You think the looks you get when skipping the lines during the boarding process are bad, wait until you see the ones you get if you use the priority debarkation!)
Back to the subject at hand. Carnival did let me book my twin daughters (then 17) in a cabin by themselves right across the hall from our cabin. From the comments on this thread, I'm beginning to believe it matters who is booking your cruise and Carnivals mood at the time. Not a negative comment. Most businesses can be more or less flexible at different times.
Two days until the Triumph. I have been waiting for months for this cruise only to have it threatened by Hurricane IDA! I will stand on the deck in defiance of her wind and rain and scream, "I WILL NOT BE DENIED!"
