Does anyone have a recent review of the ship? How it's looking these days. I've been on two newer carnival ships and loved them, both sailed out of Ft. Lauderdale. I am beginning to get nervous about all the negative comments about the ship, but getting really nervous about the reviews on the  people on the cruise. Are the people who get the discounts really that bad. I love kids, but not when they are running around with no supervision doing whatever they want. A small thing here and there doesn't bother me, but when people are rude all day every day it grates on me. I really want to enjoy this trip (as it is my honeymoon). It seems like all the ports will keep us off the ship a lot anyway. Anyone have any input on shore excursions in the Southern Caribbean? Thanks!

I do not see mentioned which ship you are referring to or what islands in the southern caribbean you are interested in. Please be more specific.

When my friend and I were in Barbados, we hired a driver for the day. I had wanted to see the lighthouses of the island but the ususal tour drivers did not want to do that so they hooked us up with a taxi driver named Anthony Porter. He will take you where ever you want, to see what ever you want and if you are not in a big rush he will show you his favorite part of the island. He was very friendly and very knowledgeable too. He lived in New York for awhile so his english was good as well. If iterested, I can look up his address and phone number. I have it here somewhere. While in St. Maarten, we did a beach break and then had the bus drop us off in the shopping district. The downtown shopping district was very nice, I liked it there. If you go to the beach beware of the women selling jewelry. The jewelry is nice and priced right but they will sc-w you some other way. We were taken for a ride when we had our hair braided. We told the girl no more than $20. but by the time she finished both of us, everyone else, including the tour director were on the bus waiting for us. She ended up charging my friend $60. and $90.00 for me. She had here friends with her and we had no one with us and ended up having to pay it, so beware. But on top of everything else. Have fun.
