How to get alcohol in you cabin to drink

Many people want to have a drink in their room and wonder how to do it.

You can call Carnival Bon Voyage office at Carnival Cruise Line and order the bottle of your choice and it will be in your room when you enter your cabin.  For example, Skye Vodaka is $40. I know that is a little steep but if you figure out the price of a drink at the bar at $6.95 plus 15% versus this price. . . it is a steal. You could bring your own mix in your bags.

Call Carnival Bon Voyage office at Carnival Cruise Line and price the bottle of your choice.

We take our own box wine. We get wine glasses from the nearest bar. Over the length of the cruise, we casually consume the whole box.

The idea of box wine is good in that you won't need a corkscrew.  Is there a good way to get/keep the box cool?  I prefer my wine a bit chilled... well I prefer pretty much all alcohol chilled.  Maybe I could take a small cooler, get ice put in it daily, then have some sort of flask or sealable cup to enjoy while relaxing on Serenity.  Any thoughts?

You could do the things you suggested--and they are fairly practical. We just left ours at room temperature--after we carried it around the ship for a while it would warm up to room temp anyway...we can drink it warm or cold. We also tried chilling the glasses first by putting ice in them for a while, but it only cooled the wine for a short time. Anyway, it beats buying it by the glass.

Boxed wine is not allowed. Only a single 750ml bottle per person 21 or over. That doesn't mean peopledon't bring it, but in doing so they are violating their contract with Carnival.

We have always taken the wine in bottles with us, but I may have to check out the bottles of liquor.

so,  according to the contract, 1 750ml bottle of wine per person- do I have to carry on the 2 bottles or can I pack them?

    Yes.

    That's the easiest answer.

There have been rare occassions where a bottle of wine was packed in the checked luggage and broke, leaking wine all over the clothes in that suitcase ... and all the suitcases under it in the stack.

Carrying it on is definitely safer.

Thanks for this piece of advice!  I think I very well might do that.  Since they don't like people carrying things like pocket knives, etc onto the ship with them, I'm guessing they would frown on a corkscrew.  Would it be better to pack one in checked luggage or to find screw-top bottles if I don't plan on drinking it in the dining room?

You can take a corkscrew.  It's airlines that are the paranoid ones.  If you're flying it'd need to be in checked luggage.  But there's folks who carry a bottle of wine, a corkscrew, get a couple glasses from their cabin and pop the wine on deck for sail-away.

    Prost!

We have done this once and carried it on, we took a small carry on with snacks and swim suits. We were told to leave our wine bottle on the bed and when we came back it was true they had iced it down and wrapped the neck in a towel

About the box wine...We took the bladder out of the box, put the bladder in a canvas tote bag and carried it on. It went thru the scanner just fine and nobody said anything about it.
