 Dont do this!  You'll save yourself some money by purchasing your excursions directly form the places that have them. 

6 more days until we leave to head to Florida. Woo hoo. I'm getting so excited I can hardly contain myself.

I book one not through Carnival but at the Paradise Island Resort--day at the beach and pool,food, and booze for 50 bucks a person.  I thought it was a good deal and then around 5pm go over and check out Atlantis for a little bit. Then back to the boat.  Don't know what to do in Freeport. 

I'm with you on this thing being all confusing.  I have a debit/credit card and I don't want to get stuck with no money when I get off the boat when I know I probably won't spend alot......oy  don't know what to use?????

AJ and I plan on putting cash on the sail and sign card.I have been reading and talking to more experienced cruiseres and I have found out that if you use a credit/debit card they will put about a  $200 per person hold on your card in addition to what is put on the card to make sure you have enough to cover your bill.  And the hold goes up depending on how much you spend. Also I have been reading it could take a couple days to weeks to get the hold taken off and refunded for any money you did not use on the S&S card if you use a card. But if you use cash you get a check at the end of the cruise for any money remaining on your S&S card. They also let you know if you are getting low on funds if you are using cash and you can add more if you wish. And they don't say much if you are getting close to the funds if you use a card because you don't have to add more money to it to use the S&S card. But you are able to check your balance at anytime by asking someone at the front desk or by the tv in your room if the ship is equipped to do so. Also if you have not paid the $50 per person gratuity tip yet it will be deducted from your S&S card as well. I don't know if they will be taking the $50 per person gas thing off there either or be paying it another way. I don't know if you all read the fine print about that.It says quote: "The company reserves the right to re-instate the fuel supplement for all guests at up to $9 per person per day if the NYMEX oil price exceeds $70 per barrel." Well I hope this helps at least a little. 5 more days until AJ and I leave for sunny Florida!!!!

What is this all about?????   Will we be charged this and if so how much?????  AS you can tell I don't like fine print.

It will up to $9 per day per person. So for each person for the cruise it could be up to $45 a person. So for 2 people it would be $90. 3 people $135, 4 people $180 etc...

Just so everyone else knows. From what I have read from poke's post on another page is that they have not yet started charging for the fuel. And I looked at NYMEX oil prices and they have gone down a little. So we may get lucky and they won't charge us. Fingers crossed. =)

This trip is starting to get real expensive. I am hoping beyond hope we don't have to pay a fuel charge. In addition to the tips, the travel, the sodas, excursions, the luggage porters, and etc. etc. etc. Anywhooo--Missa I'm with you. I can't figure out the sail card thing. It says one thing and I'll read another. 

I wonder who the entertainment will be on the ship. I am looking forward to catching a show or two, ooh, a comedian would be great.

Well gas prices are going down, so we maybe in luck. A comedian would be fun to watch. Just hope it doesn't cost extra for that. I don't think it does.

It's getting closer and closer and I become more and more wired!!!!!  I have so much to do and I have this constant fear I'm going to forget something important or run out of cash.  I might be the person with no finger nails and missing hair....hahaha.....
