So glad to hear you have had some improvement Mari and are feeling somewhat better, hope by sunday it is becoming a distant memory! Cindy, sounds like your son is having a wonderful happy time on his birthday celebrations!  Anybody heard from Pua since their return?

 Barb, it was nice and quiet.  Just the birthday boy, me and his Dad.  And the latest Nerf gun and "ATM" Savings Bank, complete with a little card you slide and the ATM tells you how much money you've saved. And homemade chocolate cake with chocolate frosting.  Thanks for asking!  Sunday I'm making another cake for the kid party. Six of his closest friends from school are coming. I'm sure it will be nice but definitely not quiet!

 

Yum, chocolate cake!  We tend to discuss food frequently on this site.  Glad ds birthday was nice and I'm sure he will have fun with his friends on Sunday.  save some cake for us!

Speaking of food. I was ssooo waiting for the chocolate buffet on Saturday, and everything looked scrumptious.. but when we tried it.. most of the things were bland. I was kind of dissapointed. There were a few things that were ok, others good, but most of it, bland. I dont mean to sound whiney and bitchy, is just an observation. the food in the dining room was very, very good.

Exactly!! u hit it right on the nose. Me being a frustrated pastry chef and loving to bake, and experiment with chocolate was expecting a bit more from the chocolate experts. Now the choc melting cake was awesome.

Amen to  the chocolate melting cake!  One of our favorite restaurants makes a dessert that  is  very similar and almost as wonderful.

Good morning, kids.  Glad to see you all up and about.  Mari, I totally agree on chocolate.  I have very high expectations whenever I see anything chocolate.  Doesn't always live up to them but I always try to at least sample anything that says chocolate.  I can understand how the undone items are sticking their tongue out at you, they do the same thing here.  Naughty little devils aren't they.  Try not to over-do.  Hope everyone has a great Friday and enjoys the weekend.  We're headed over to Bedford today to see little sister and her husband off to New Orleans.  I'd stow away in their trunk, but they're switching to a train in Illinois and then staying in NO until Tuesday when they board the Triumph.  Be hard to hide that long.

Yes Mari, it is the Dream!  I will try to take notes.  I'm not a great photographer, but will try to get some decent shots.  Mostly I want to relax in some sunshine!   I do want to try the hot tubs on the prom deck that are over the ocean.  I think that will be a great way to sail out of NY Harbor!
