    weather concerns for 1st timers...

    hello all...

we leave in 8 days for our first cruise, on Imagination... headed to Nassau...  after watching the weather for Nassau and Miami, i see that theres a 60 percent chance of rain while were there...

my head tells me that this happens and the cruise lines deal with it all the time, so, my question is, have YOU experianced rain for your entire cruise and if so, is there PLENTY to do inside to keep you occupied and to keep you from going "stir" crazy???

again, im sure im just in "worry" mode and theres nothing for me to be worried about... just go and have a GOOD time, right?

i mean, ALOT of weather can change in 8 days...

    thanks!!!

This is the tropics, and it changes daily, so don't worry, and what 60% chance means, is that any given time, you have a 60% chance of getting rained on, which means you have a 40% chance of sunshine.  You will be in the tropics, and everyday, there is a % of rain, and very seldom, is there a 0% of rain in FL.

There's lots to do inside, if you get rain every day.  There's shows, demonstrations, shopping, port talks, etc.

But as the previous poster said, the likelihood of it raining every day is slim.

Just relax, don't worry, and have a good time!

We've had rain on most of our cruises. Once we got caught on an excursion driving jeeps with the top down. We weren't able to stop as we were in traffic in Playa Del Carmen. We got soaked.

Most of the time the rain doesn't last very long and the sun comes out shortly after. Several times the captain has steered around bigger thunder storms. And yes there will be plenty to do to keep you occupied.

Re: weather concerns for 1st timers...

Mother Nature is so unpredictable and they try their best also to predict ahead.  I kept track of the weather at the Ports of Call we stopped at on both cruises and started about 8 to 10 days prior to leaving.  I always checked weather.com on a daily basis.  I was hoping for sunny weather on both cruises and I got it with the exception of Miami the day before the cruise.  I was literally drenched from head to toe there.. In some of those places it only rains for awhile and then the sun comes out.  I packed a small travel umbrella just in case and that was mainly for Miami.  I worried about the weather too so you are not the only one that does.  If you do get rain, there is plenty to do and I would never let it ruin a cruise.  I would have been hearbroken if our Dolphin Swim Excursion got rained out and cancelled.  But, we would have just had to book another cruise to Cozumel.  That's where we are going back to on our 3rd cruise we are planning.  I found a ship with an Itineray that stops there from 8am to 10pm which would be awesome to me.  It is beautiful there at night with all the lights.  Wink
