Max, did you book "early saver".  My cruise was Oct 4 and the price started coming down the end of Aug.  You should check the price 3 times a day for the next few weeks and jump on it when you see a price drop.  I got an upgrade and $213 OBC.

Terrible tragedy about 30 miles from us at Ft Hood.  An Army major apparently shot and killed 12 people and wounded 31 people.  Details are just starting to trickle out now.  They have lost so many soldier in Iraq, this is a true tragedy.

Surprisingly, I don't recall where that is there?  My dad was from KC, my mom from Mtn. Grove east of Springfield in the sw part of the state (think little house on the prairie), we were actually thinking of moving there at time or two, but it's simpler to live here in the high desert, I don't think I've got what it takes to move, we can travel!  Our weathers good, so what the heck.  But I love Missouri!

Lizz Like you said, it was your choice.  That being said, we never got any of these tax breaks while our children was growing up.  As far as taxing the planet, you need to come to Texas and see all the wide open spaces.  Also, there were no special parking place and if there were, I wouldn't have used them.  My husband made very good money, we paid our share of taxes.  Now we have no children in our home and we are also paying more than our share of taxes.  We certainly paid for our own children with no help from the government.  Of course, that is the way our family was raised.  We  also raised them to serve their country.  Three chose to serve in the military.  They chose to have smaller families and pay their fair share of taxes.  I will never feel guilty about raising our six children to be responsible adults without taking any help from the govt.  It takes a very unselfish couple to raise children.  I guess we would have a lot more material possessions had we remained childless but material things aren't important to me, my family is.  I would do it all over again.

Exactly.  I get really annoyed when I think about the fact that as a person who has never had kids, and has put less of a strain on this planet than people with kids, I get penalized.  What really ticks me off is there is a BJ's store by us that has "special" parking for people with kids.  WTF????   Just because someone chose to have kids they should have a better parking place than me?  WRONG.  I look at that as discrimination against us "non-breeders" and whenever possible, park in those spots.  What is even worse is they have more children parking spots than handicapped spots.  Another big WTF and just plain old wrong in my eyes.

Lizz,   I have to agree with you on the tax system in our country.  Never understood why you have to pay more when you use less.  People with no children pays twice as much for parks than people with children that use them.  Same with schools and about every thing else.                                                 

Liz, Sharon agrees with you totally.  She was never able to have kids, but paid school taxes and had no dependent deductions.  The expectant mother and toddler spots have been popping up around here too.
