    Dec 19, New Orleans

We are going to board on Dec 19 cruise. We have three kids (13 year old girl, 11 year old girl, and 3 year old boy). We booked balcony state room #6408.

    I have three questions,,

    1. I just wonder if we (5 of us) have comfortable room space to sleep.

    2. How is the weather on Dec 19? Can we swim on Dec 19 or Dec 20 on the deck?

It would be very appreciated if someone leave answer for us.

Im not sure about the balcony rooms because I was in an interior room but I did pass by a room that had a king size bed and a bunk bed in an interior room and it didn't look cramped and I'm quite sure that the balcony rooms are much spacious than the interior rooms from the pictures on carnival.com, so I think you will be fine.  As far as  weather you will be able to swim probably not while your still in new orleans .  I spoke to the taxi cab driver in cozumel and he told me that it doesn't really get cold down there,he says that it has a cold spell in january so when you get futher out into the ocean the weather should change and you will be able to swim then.  To check the weather conditions a week before you leave go on weather.com it may be helpful.

Your cabin 6408 has Queen-Size Bed, Single Convertible Sofa and Upper berth that drops down for one person.  Depending on the ages of the five, five taking turns to use what ever will be easier if some sit on the balcony or go to the Lido Deck and wait their turn.  There is so much room on board, there is always some place go or some place to sit. When my wife's sister cruises with us, I go to the Men's Spa to shower and some time to dress for dinner.

Weather . . .you'll love it.  It will be warm In Cozumel.

Hints of what to take on board:

    • Small Flash Lite (it is dark in the room at night)
    • Powerstrip to plug in battery changer and Laptop or other electric items. Only one or two outlets on ships
    • Mini battery run clock -when you wake up in the dark you can see the time
    • Walkie Talkies -good quality ones. . about $79 at Costco or Sam's.  Keep in touch with each other anywhere on the ship or in ports. We used them in on our 15 day cruise from Barcelona - Galveston in Nov 08.  Worked in ports. . .my wife stayed on board in Cartagena, Spain and I could talk to her from port.
    • Couple of 12 packs of your fav soft drink.  Drinks are $4.95 and up on board
    • Soft side fold up cooler -med size.  Steward will fill with ice if you ask.  Tip a little more for this at the end.  I have them fill it in the PM the first night and it lasts.  Keep in in the shower floor.
    • Some folks bring a 18 pack of beer in their check in I have heard and read. .so the ice cooler is helpful.

There are other items. ..just thought of these.

Packing!   Pack your bags.  Then take half out and you'll have about what you needCool
