    Oceanview vs. Balcony

    Hello,

I am sailing the Western Carribbean and have never been on the Legend. There are two other cabins booked for our party. We have two extended balconys and one oceanview. I am wondering if I should tell the party in the oceanview to upgrade. One of my concearns is being on the first floor...is it noisy? Is it worht it to pay the $$ to upgrade?

Thanks for any advice from previous Legend passengers!

    Re: Oceanview vs. Balcony

It depends on how much time they'll be spending in their room.  We're not big drinkers and don't go out dancing until all hours of the night.  We head back to the room after the shows and go out on our balcony and enjoy the night that way.  We're on our 10th cruise with Carnival.....one (the first one) with ocean view, the other 9 with balconies.  We'd never go without the balcony.  Last cruise we had a back corner balcony on the Freedom and it was amazing!!!!

I would say this is definitely one of those personal preference things. We have cruised on the Legend before and had a balcony. It was very nice to have and we had some great views from it, especially in the mornings pulling into port. I have stayed in a balcony, penthouse suit, and two OV's before, and on our next cruise on the Legend in June, we are getting in interior state room. We do not spend a lot of time in our room especially when we take the kids with us, which is what we are doing in June. Happy cruising!!!

Nothing like having a balcony......The views and fresh air are well worth it.  For the noise concearns - I would just stay away from the Main and Panorama decks.  Always keep rooms above and below you.

Sailed on the Legend Oct 18 - had a balcony and were thrilled. Although we didn't spend all day/every day there, we had a lot of enjoyment from relaxing on the balcony, glasses of wine in hand.  The only deterrent was our neighbours, but they weren't out there all the time either, so it was bearable.  Having cruised three other times, in oceanview staterooms, I would heartily recommend a balcony!!
