    Celebrating 21st on Conquest!

I booked my 2nd cruise to the Western Carribean Dec 6th on Carnival Conquest. On the 9th, in Jamaica it will be my 21st birthday!! I am so excited. This will be my husbands first cruise!!

I know the drinking age on the boat is 21, how leniant do you think they will be about me drinking the first half of the cruise?

Also-my husband will be presenting his birth certificate and DL as his boarding documents. Anyone have any problems doing this?? We ordered one from Vital Records from the State, however it almost just looks typed? Kind of weird.

Last question :-) We opted to have a stateroom picked for us since that was the cheaper way aCoolnd the guy I booked with said I may get a really good one like this. Anyone have experience with this? When will I know what stateroom we're in?

    Thanks

    Cool

Don't know about the drinking thing, imagine they have to adhere to the same rules as everywhere else.

Your  certificate of birth should have your state's seal embossed on it.

One other thing you will have to remember that if your husband is under the age of 25 you will need to have a copy of your marriage license with you since you are under 21.

The drinking age onboard the ship is 21 , they aren't suppose to serve anyone under the age of 21.  I have heard but do not know for sure, will have to check on it , but to be able to drink onboard you would have to be 21 when you board.

there is always a chance of getting a good cabin when you book the fun saver... but just remember that you could end up with a bad one also..

I agree with the other poster... You are the same age (to the cruise line) the entire time you are on the ship.  If you board the ship at 20, they will consider you to be 20 the entire cruise, even if you had a birthday.  I've never been on a cruise, so I dont know how lenient the bartenders are...but, I would not depend on them serving you alcohol at anytime on your cruise.  I'll look for where this is reference on the carnival site...

so if the bartender did an ID check and saw that today was her birthday, they would still deny her a drink because she wasn't 21 when the ship set sail?

     That's sounds crazy.

It is a very easy fix for her..... she is married her husband is over 21... so he just has to be the gentleman that he is and when he goes and orders a drink he just gets 2....

i have never been on a cruise yet but if you are on a 7 day cruise to celebrate your 21st birthday and you turn 21 at the first port I bet they have encountered that before and can switch things around so you can drink. if not i would raise so much heck that they would just do it. if that still didnt work then the hubby would be ordering double.

I'm going to be celebrating my 21st on a cruise also but I will be 21 before the start of the cruise. My pvp made sure to tell me that it doesn't matter if you have a birthday in the middle of the cruise. She said if you're 20 at the beginning of the cruise they still consider you to be 20 through out the entire cruise.  She said they're pretty strict about this.

There is no ID check on board.  Your information is embedded in your S&S card which doesn't change for the duration of the cruise.
