Re: BON VOYAGE Smitty, Pua and Linda

    Savannah Cruiser:

    Hi Smitty

I don't know you except from what I read at Carnival Connections but my hat goes off to you. I think it is great that you are of retirement age and are still able get out and enjoy cruising with your friends and family. Not to mention still working and earning the money to do so. My wife's parents and mine are gone and our kids never got the chance to cruise with them. How great that would have been.  You're making memories with your family that they will never forget. I have awhile to go yet before I can retire but I plan on doing just like you. I wish y'all a great cruise and many more to come in the future

    Thanks Savannah Cruiser,

I'd much rather leave my grandkids with memories of Orlando family vacations or family cruises, than leave my kids a few bucks to waste when I'm gone. I came into this world naked and poor, and I intend to go out of it with no money left and wearing old clothes while on a Fun Ship Cruise.

We love you Kalyn Padget and Rosie Unsworth (our lovely adopted daughters), Amy Barton, Melanie Therrien, TJ, and Rick! The Fun Crew puts the fun in Carnival Cruising! Thank you Butch for being a fantastic CD!

I've only been off the Holiday for a short time, and I'm already having fits of melancholy. I guess unless we can cruise every two months, I'll probably never be satisfied again.

Our 7 YO and 6 YO grandsons decided that they would prefer a Thanksgiving Cruise to Key West and Cozumel on the Destiny to Thanksgiving in Orlando/Kissimmee this November. We must be teaching them well. Thanks for an excuse for my booking another cruise, guys!

Our current future dream cruise is 15 days back-to-back on the Freedom / 8-day Eastern (Fort Lauderdale) and the Valor / 7-day Western (Port of Miami) with a 45 minute private shuttle ride in between the two Fun Ships.

Thanks Mojo! I actually like it better than the one the photographer took in the atrium. I'll post that pic below here. We told the boys to look stern, but they look a tad grumpy.

We'll have five guys in our Men in Black photo on the Destiny. Our younger daughter's boyfriend is going with us at Thanksgiving.

T i c k, t o c k... T i c k, t o c k...  It's 7;30 am and we are just waiting until we can take the dawgs to the kennel - they open at 9 am. Then back home to pick up our luggage and we are on our way!!! Looks like we will get to the ship by 11-ish - we can get there in 45 minutes if the traffic is moving.

Thanks for all the well wishes & can't wait to catch up with all of you when we return.

Mojo, I'm the Linda from California!  We are getting away to more warm weather - high 80's here in the San Fernando Valley for the next week.  Yuck...  we would really like some cooler weather and need rain.

PLEASE RETURN THE PRIDE TO LONG BEACH!!!

    Smitty681:

If you are satisfied with an oceanview or a 1A with portholes rather than wanting or needing a balcony all the time, you can generally do a 7 night cruise for around or even under $1000 a couple.

Smitty ~  Yep... my recent triple back cruise adventure, 11-nights total, WITH airfare for Bill and I was under $1200.

Yeppers Lizz! If you are smart in the way you book, you can get great deals. The budget airlines, AirTran, Southwest, and Jet Blue go the same places the big time airlines do for less money, and they treat their customers nicer. I never knew about the 1A cabins until recently. Now we know they are there AND how to find them on the CCL website. Seeya next week!

Re: BON VOYAGE Smitty, Pua and Linda

That expensive overpriced cruise I am taking tomorrow sure did kill my bank account at $219pp for a 6B oceanview for a 5-night cruise.  I guess I am going to have to wash dishes onboard to pay for my S&S account.

Fixing to go start packing.  See you at 1pm on the Lido, Smitty.   Lets hope that bucket of beer doesnt put you in the poor house. Smile

Smitty if you are an old timer I guess my dh and I are prehistoric.  We still know how to have fun and book 3-4 cruises every year.  Maybe it is the oldtimers who know how to afford to have a good time.
