    Why Carnival Encourages Carnival Connections

I've seen people's postings from the most ludicrous complaints ranging from why are they discontinuing the past guest pins to why do they not allow 2 year olds in the swimming pool.  Then you have the more savvy passengers who actually give you sound advice on how to travel and make the most of your vacation dollars.  Some have asked why Carnival will allow people to complain on these threads.  My answer is simple...If you read something that looks ridiculous you'll probably side with Carnival.  Most of the things they do are for the benefit of the masses.  Many of the complaining posts are from people who either are trying to incite a riot, want to see their ridiculous complaints in print, or just get off on making a mockery of a website established to help us communicate with others with similar vacation desires.  It's all about demographics and Carnival has done its homework.  Allowing us to discuss things in this forum is beneficial to all.

Re: Why Carnival Encourages Carnival Connections

I have found that most of the people that come and complain sound like they did not bother to read the cruise contract they agreed to when they booked the cruise. Did not read the FAQ section on carnival.com and never bothered to read about they type of rate they were booking,  ie the early saver , carnival has a FAQ section just to explain that rate.

What you will find is that the people that have a great time on their cruise are the lucky ones that do their homework and have found websites like this to ask questions.

The big thing is that everyone needs to remember that a vacation is still real life and not everything will be perfect.  You just have to know ahead of time how to handle the problems that do come up.

I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful cruise.

Excellently written, Jeff & Dawn!  Communication is, in general, a positive thing.  Carnival knows how many happy, satisfied vacationers it has, and knows that our statements speak as loudly if not louder than all its advertising and marketing in general.

I absolutely agree with VA Cruiser that most complainers are folks that did not read the contracts they signed.  The information is there, you just gotta get through it!

Agreed.  Many complaints come because they didn't adhere to the fine print.

I like to get 'clarification' alot.  I may read something but sometimes don't understand, I'm just a commoner.

And I love the reviews!  I am so excited about my upcoming trip that I just asked my daughter if we could do this every year on my birthday.  Yay!  (she said, yes- as long as we go somewhere different each time)

What always surprises me is people not understanding that the ships are going to foreign countries and that the ship it's self is more or less a foreign country.
