    Hi There!

You will be taking the very last cruise the grand lady will make with Carnival, then she will be retired from the fleet.  I loved the Holiday myself, she was a charming smaller ship from Carnival's earlier days (1984) with lots of charm with a great retro-style (like the bus).  The newer 'Fantasy Class' ships were a modified version of that class.  I don't know the current condition of the ship, nor the specifics of her current itinerary, but I sure wanted to take that last cruise on her if I wasn't already booked for March on the paradise (I'm kinda a romantic on some things).  Look around the section of the site for 'Funships' and see what's posted for that ship, maybe post any questions about her there.  Regardless, you should have fun!

Have a great trip and let us all know how it went!

    Best Regards, M&J

Sorry, my eyes are tired, you did post your question under the 'Holiday' posts, I saw your post in the side-tab and sprung to action blindly in an effort to help!  You'll get more answers I'm sure, but ask away if not!  Happy Cruising!

    Re: can anyone help

I just returned from a voyage on the Holiday 10/19, and am sad to see her go. Yes she is a small ship in comparison but a great beginner voyage for some. She will not overwhem you as the others may. She is quaint with a touch of nostalgia. You can tell she has seen many a voyage and grace many a passenger with her elegance. Being of her 37 years she has aged very gracefully as a fine wine set for a grand unveiling. You will be blessed by visiting her and more so glad that you did. She will make you appreciate her as well as other ships you will encounter. As with any female of age, be gentle with her, speak kindly, glide with her as she takes her spin across the open sea and send her off with the grace she deserves, I know I did and glad I took the opportunity.

    Bon Voyage!

Well I appreciate your help. I did a seven day the first time. Mobile is only a three hour drive so thought I would support the home team.

    Re: can anyone help

The thing with the Holiday is that people forget her place in the evolution of ships.  Most of the complaints stem from they are expecting all the bells and whistles of the newer ships.  Instead they should look at how the newer ships evolved from the Holiday.

You wont have an atrium.  You wont have a whole bunch of balconies.  The balconies that are on her are considered suites.  The ship is the smallest in the fleet but makes up for it with the crew as they are like one big family.

We are having a Meet & Greet on the Lido deck aft right after muster drill.  When you go through the buffet area, you will see a sliding door on the left.  Outside it to the right is a little bar.  You are welcome to come join us and say hello.

We are also having a champagne toast on the last seaday at 11:30pm to say farewell to the old gal.

    Dave
