    Supper Club

We are going to be on the Spirit in January.  I think we would like to go to the supper club the last night of the cruise.  That may be a busy night.  My question is how soon can you make reservations for the club?  Can that be done ahead of boarding or only after you board the ship?

Me again!  To my knowledge, you need to make the reservation when you get on board.  If you to the Lido buffet for lunch when you board, they will have a Supper Club table set up to show what the offer and take reservations at that time.  We did this in August on the Alaska cruise and it was great.  Enjoy.

    HI Jake

It is best to make the reservations ahead of time. You can do that on-line and will get an email for confirmation. You will get a nice note in your cabin to remind you of the day and date and dress code.

You CAN make reservations during your cruise. However, you may run the risk of not getting the day or time you wish because they are already busy. If you can, make your plans before you sail.

Reserve at least 2 hours for your supper club experience. Our dinner took over 2.5 hours. We did not rush nor were we urged to rush. They will serve at YOUR pace so slow down and enjoy.

    Hi Karen

Thanks for the information.  Another question I have is about the dress code.  We will not be bringing anything really fancy.  I will have some very nice shirts and slacks.  To the best of your knowledge will that be acceptable.  I would hate to get to the door and be turned away.  Thanks.

I don't know for certain so you may want to check with Carnival.  I do know that on the night we did, all of the men had on jackets and ties and a few guys were even wearing tuxedos.

I believe there's no such thing as too early.  We're sailing Aug 2010 and I have already set up our reservations and received my confirmation email.  I read it's a first come first served basis and definately wanted a 6:00 sitting.  We're looking forward to it.

    Re: Supper Club

Most of the people were dressed in suits but there were a few men that had on slacks, normal shoes, and one of those wedding shirts. At the same time there were men that showed up in jeans and tennis shoes that were turned away. Their significant others were in cocktail dresses. Best to check with the receptionist when you get on the ship. You can always cancel if they tell you no.

We ate at 6pm and we were the only ones in there until 6:30. At 8pm it did start to get a bit crowded. Don't forget to call them anyway and reserve a seat by the window or on the second floor looking down if you want to see whats going on around you. There is the deck outside the windows with people dressed for the pool. Another reason we went to the second floor, there wasn't much traffic outside on that deck.

    Re: Supper Club

Thanks for the advise on the table locations.  I think your suggestion for a window seat on the second floor is a good one.  When reserving the dinner club does it all have to be on one sign and sail or can it be handled by individual guests at the time of dinner?  There will be six of us eating and couples will be taking care of their own charges.

    Re: Supper Club

I don't see why they wouldn't. Of course it comes back down to asking when you get there. Jake, I don't know if there is a table for 6 upstairs but when you make your reqest, ask. I wish I was going again soon.

    Re: Supper Club

Hi there, I just got my confirmation for the Supper Club....had trouble getting a response but finally did.  We did not request table locations but requested dining time of 7PM.  Is there any room for selection at the time or should I go and talk to the head waiter on embarcation day?

    Re: Supper Club

We went the first day and made our request for a window. Well, when we arrived the window seat was on the deck where absolutely everyone was walking around in beach attire. So, I asked if we could be seated on the second floor over looking the 1st floor. Up there the foot traffic outside was minimal and we liked it much better. Less waiter movement and people being seated. Go to the supper club and look for yourselves and then make your decision on the visual.
