    Itinerary Change

We are on the Spirit in January and I just noticed that the itinerary changed. In the Carnival travel catalog It showed us arriving in Acapulco first and staying almost two days. My travel documents show something else entirely. I have done a lot of looking but never realized about the itinerary. Help me decide what is right? Thanks

Your travel documents are probably correct.  I would either check your reservation on line or call Carnival to get the information.  This is not unusal as itineraries do change.  Also, do not pay attention too much to the schedules in the catalog.  They also show cruises running in Europe last summer which didn't run at all.  Happy sailing.

Carnival Liberty (Eastern Caribbean): January, 2008
Carnival Pride (Mexican Riviera); August, 2008
Carnival Freedom (Western Caribbean): January, 2009
Carnival Legend (Western Caribbean): June, 2009
    Carnival Spirit (Alaska): August, 2009
Carnival Victory (Southern Caribbean): January, 2010

The change is not a real deal breaker.  In fact, I really do not care.  I just feel kind of silly.  I had committed the itinerary to memory early on and just skimmed over it everytime I saw it in print.

I try to be on top of these things and I literally missed the boat on this one.

    Re: Itinerary Change

It happens and usually when you book really far in advance.  It depends on the area you are sailing to.  Friends of mine booked an Eastern Caribbean cruise from NYC and ended up stopping in three different ports than three listed when they originally booked.  They had a great time anyway.

    Re: Itinerary Change

With the new Itinerary we are only in Acapulco for a day and leaving at 5 PM.  The excusions to see the cliff divers all seem to be dinner venues.  Who would you contact at Carnival to ask questions about alternatives to what is posted on line?

Take a close look.......it is not 2 days.  12 pm until 1 am.  it is only 13 hours.....unless you arrive at 6 am and leave a 5 pm.....then it is 11 hrs

    Re: Itinerary Change

You are right! The way it was laid out in the catalog gave the illusion of more than 1 day. It still would have been nice to be in Acapulco in the evening hours. Thanks for setting me straight.
