In 2005 on my back-to-back cruises I was supposed to go to Cozumel on both legs of the cruise, but a hurricane (Wilma???) had hit right before we left and up until the day of the cruise we didn't know what our ports would be.   Ended up with Calica and Playa del Carmen...  it was fine with me, but the number of people on the ship complaining... geez louise!

Yup Liz, it was Wilma but the cruise went to Key West and Playa Del Carmen, not Calica.  I was there with ya!  Started out as Key West and Coz, then was changed to Nassau and Freeport, then changed back to Key West (which was half underwater and we wasted half the day switching piers!) and then dropped anchor in the channel and tendered over to PDC - also, we only spent half as much time in PDC as we were supposed to in Coz so all we did was walk around town a bit, eat some lunch and drink some Margueritas and then hopped back on the tender and back to the ship.  It was still fun, though, and we all made the best of it!

I do remember the Playa Del Carmen and being tendered in, but on the second leg of the back-to-back Calica was the port and the only reason I remember that is because I am one of those nuts that always buys the cruise pictures and there is one of me with a cute, half naked Indian!  lol

We talked about it last night and even if we do end up visiting Nassau - we've never been over to Atlantis and the kids would love that I'm sure.  So game plan made, suitcases packed and we leave for the airport in an hour!

I guess they never fixed their ship as we just rec'd a call an hour ago that our itinerary has changed for our cruise, leaving tomorrow 11-21-09 from Miami on the Destiny to Ocho Rios and Grand Cayman.

I've been to the Bahamas a half dozen times but I guess 1 more time won't hurt.

They have given us a final offer of a $50 per person credit or a full refund but I have to decide tonight.

Not a happy sailer but they have you by the $#@&%!

am sorry to hear that    i am  thinking about planning the same boat and cruise on a later date i been to the bahamas also i wanted to try something new this time. i have taken a crusie before with carnival but did not have any issue, cheer up i hope u have fun on your cruise
