i am from philly too and would LOVE to see more ships leave out of here... i remember earlier this year, maybe feb/march at the train station at school (i go to temple) there were adverts for carnival... but i think they were the for a month... NCL cruises a ship out of philly, but it doesn't have balcony rooms, and is a pretty small ship (and unlike NY and Baltimore its not year round)... so yea, carnival SHOULD cruise more outta philly!  bermuda, bahama's, caribbean, i dont care... it would just be nice.

and yes, the phillies SHOULD be the world champs again, since it should be ILLEGAL to buy a championship (and you gotta admit, those ref's SUCKED allthe way through for whoever was playing the yankees)

    Re: Ports

I, too, would like to see cruises out of Philly.  However, I can get to NY'C's port with land-based transportation so it isn't all that bad.

yes...fortunately it is easy enough to just hop on amtrak to get up there, which is great... we're taking our first cruise out of baltimore on the pride next month, and except for the exorbient parking fees, its pretty convenient

i would love for carnival to port out of philadelphia ,i'll be on the first sailing,,but for now we got baltimore and newyork ports to go to and they are both only 2 hours away from philly,,it would be nice if baltimore had 4 and 5 day cruises for carnival and newyork isn't year round--and the phils lost-but still proud of them--now go eagles....

I have heard or read or something that Carnival may be adding more itineries  and ships out of Baltimore????   It seems sailing out of Baltimore is doing well...   I guess it's rumor until we actually see it on the Carnival website.  It would be great to have more Carnival sailings out of Baltimore (or Philly too as it is only about 2 hour drive from me LOL)..  I am planning a NY sailing one day... just not sure yet what the best travel way would be to get to NY....

"Mass transit" will get you to either the Port Authority or to Penn Station, both of which are a short taxi ride (<$10) to the Cruise Terminals.

Walt...   I am not very familiar with trains or buses for that matter into NY...   Does Amtrak go right into Penn Station?  What bus lines go right into the port?  I guess I could google it but if you could give me some specific ideas, it would be a better start for me.   appreciate it!

Amtrak goes right to Penn Station...  there are probably a multitudes of trains or buses to get to teh port, but the best would probably be to pay for the taxi... with luggage and stuff, (as I've done this too many times and would like to forget) its realllllllllllllllllly obnoxious to try and lug it around the subway, onto and off of a bus, and it really just pisses people off when you hold everything up because your hands are full.  I don't know if they have it from Baltimore, but I know from Philly you can use one of the transport companies and its like 50 bucks to take them to the port or airport in ny.
