Re: Reviews for Spirt Mexican Riviera Shore Excursions?

Manzanillo we took the colonial tour. It was 1 1/2 hour bus ride one way with stops to see a church, police department and museums. At this stop we were given the choice to stay with the tour or to go on our own and meet back at the bus in one hour. We did hit a few shops and then went to the best western for a beer and bano stop. They took us to some ruins that were uncovered and they were excavating and then on to an authentic mexican restaurant for lunch. All the tour buses stop here and you have a chance to do some shopping.

Zihuatanejo we did the Picante Catamaran and we all enjoyed it very much. 3 hours long and then we did a brief walk down the main street looking for a magnet or any other trinket. It was so humid we just went back to the ship, showered and went to the pool. A friend hailed a cab to take them to Ixtapa and back and the cab driver tried to jack the price to 70 dollars. Just beware and make sure you don't let them take you somewhere else so they can say they took you on a tour, that would justify the price jacking.

Alcapulco our friends did a tour with Rosie. I will send you the information if you are interested. We just took a VW bug cab to the hard rock cafe and then over to see where the cliff divers are. They weren't diving that early. There is a walk way to the fort of san diego or you can cross the street. There is police to stop traffic so you can cross. It is 3.00 a person.

Thank you, that is a very helpful review. We have a bit of time to decide =) I know we want to take the Ancient Petroglyphs of Palma Sola in Acapulco during the day, and hoping to catch some night cliff diving/dinner at the place the Elvis movie 'Fun in Acapulco' was filmed, think it is called La Palma. Thanks again!

If you do not mind I would be interested in the tour with Rosie.  The itinerary has changed for the spirit in January 2010 and we are in Acapulco only for a day and leaving at 5PM.  We all are interested in the Cliff Divers but Carnival excursions are all dinner and evening venues.  Carnival might include something but have not as of yet.  When do the cliff divers start diving for the day?  Thanks

We did this cruise in March 09.

    http://www.limafamily.net/photo_album3.php?Directory=Cruise_2009&Name=Cruise%202009%20-%20Mexico

Acapulco - Since being a photography nut we went to see the cliff divers during the day. I got some excelent shots. This tour included a bus ride to show off the new Acapulco over the hill.

Zihuantanejo/Ixtapa - We did the Picante in the morning. They were AWESOME. They even let my wife drive the CAT. Can argue with free beer on the way back to the dock.

In the afternoon we did the swimming with the dolphins, which was INCREDIBLE. This is a must at least one in your life. From what we heard, Delphini was better that other dolphin swims. They WILL try to sell you pictures after the tour.

Manzanillo - We did snorkeling at Elephant Rock in the morning. On the way back they held a beer drinking contest. I would have participated if we were not doing a the ATV tour that afternoon. The ATV tour took you fron their ranch into the hills then on the beach. They let us play on the dunes with the ATV's for about 1/2 hour. On the way back to their ranch we went through a little bit of a jungle.

    jake,

I'll look for her business card and email you the information by Monday. When she picked the group up they were able to see the cliff divers in a special dive at 9 am. I don't know if that is all the time but she will have that information. She provides a cooler of water, beer, and soda too. You get to do your own type of sight seeing, just let her know.
