Traveling with hubby and two kids ... 14 and 12.  Was exploring excursions for our upcoming Carnival Paradise Cruise on 11/23/09 and found the Fox Studios Tour interesting.  Can't seem to find it as an option anymore.  Does anyone know if this is still offered through Carnival?  Am I just too early to book?  Does anyone have any insite on the tour ... worth it??

Can't seem to find it as an option anymore.

We did the Wine Tour last weekend as an excursion from our cruise. During the tour the guide mentioned that the studio is off limits because they are filming there.

We have a little casita in Baja Malibu, just north of Rosarito.  The talk around town with the locals is that the studio is closed.  Now, that may or may not be true, but we have some friends who live there and who also said that some folks had been let go and that the studio closed in Sept.  We've been to the studio during filming before (Master and Commander) and they simply told us it was happening, reduced the rate, and steered us clear of the area.  Which then made a small studio even smaller.  Anyway, just sharing what we heard the last time we were in Baja Malibu a couple of weeks ago.  Hopefully, your tour guide was right and they are just filming because it was a good job for a lot of Rosarito, Puerto Nuevo, Cantamar, etc. residents.

I'm very happy to say that it appears you're correct and my info was wrong!  I called my neighbor in Baja Mal and asked what the latest scoop was about Foxploration.  He said that Disney has begun filming the new Chronicles of Narnia 3 movie and will be continuing to do so for at least 4 or 5 months.  This is GREAT news for the local economy there.  Not so good for people who want to tour.  But that's just a matter of timing, I guess.  It's a HUGE production, so they obviously need the whole campus in order to do it.  So, there ya go!  Thanks for getting me curious as to the real story!
