Sailed on the Holiday on 10-15. Words of advice for you with children

Do not take your kids to see the shows at night.  There was no warning, they let us in with our 11 yr old son and it was not much more than a strip show.  A woman came out wearing a black bra, booty shorts and a denim jacket.  And that wasn't all.  There should have been some type of warning.

All the production shows on the ships are a Las Vegas type of dance/clothing.  Personally the kids see more (less clothing) at the pool or on the beach than they do on the stage.  If your child would have been in Camp Carnival instead of with you, they still would have gotten to see the show but they sit in the upper balcony.

Re: Sailed on the Holiday on 10-15. Words of advice for you with children

Hey Dave! November 2, the Lido Deck, around 1:00 PM?

Do any of those folks who have sailed on the Holiday recently experienced any problems with the water in the dining room being cloudy? We're taking bottled water for brushing our teeth and drinking in our cabin. However, we hope that the water in the dining room will be OK. We have heard several negative comments about the water on the Holiday. We're not going to let this ruin our cruise, but we just need to know how much water to take along. Thanks!

As for not taking kids to the shows, most shows (mainly the comedians) that are aimed toward adults are announced/advertised as "R" rated. If you think the content of a show is a little too racy (as our oldest and her hubby felt about the ventriloquist on the Pride), you simply take your kids and leave the show. You are in no way prevented from leaving a show if you want to do so.

We love you Kalyn Padget and Rosie Unsworth (our lovely adopted daughters), Amy Barton, Melanie Therrien, TJ, and Rick! The Fun Crew puts the fun in Carnival Cruising! Thank you Butch for being a fantastic CD!

I've only been off the Holiday for a short time, and I'm already having fits of melancholy. I guess unless we can cruise every two months, I'll probably never be satisfied again.

Our 7 YO and 6 YO grandsons decided that they would prefer a Thanksgiving Cruise to Key West and Cozumel on the Destiny to Thanksgiving in Orlando/Kissimmee this November. We must be teaching them well. Thanks for an excuse for my booking another cruise, guys!

We went on two Norwegian Cruise Line Tramp Steamer Cruises - Thank goodness we were too busy on our honeymoon in 1978 to realize how crummy the cruise actually was - Then they ruined our 2007 Hawaii Cruise that was my retirement gift from my wife - Two chances is enough! - Never again!

Our current future dream cruise is 15 days back-to-back on the Freedom / 8-day Eastern (Fort Lauderdale) and the Valor / 7-day Western (Port of Miami) with a 45 minute private shuttle ride in between the two Fun Ships.

Yes, I know I was free to leave.  I just thought that for those parents that don't want their kids to see a woman dancing like a stripper in a black bra straddling a man lying on the stage would appreciate the heads up.  I know I would have.

    Tony

Thanks for your words of advice.  I appreciate you taking the time to  share your experience.  It is one thing to see folks at the pool having fun and seeing someone - even fully dressed - straddling someone in a provocative way.

I dont event take myself to the late late shows.  :-)

This is in reply to the person inquiring about the water, my wife, parents and I just got of the Holiday this morning, the 24th, and the whole time we were onboard, since the 19th, the water was fine, nice and clear, little taste from the filtering, but was fine for me, and I'm very picking about my water as I have well water at home and it kinda spoils you.  The water in the cabin, buffet and dining room were all great.  No problems at all,

When we went on the Holiday in June, the capers stated that the costumes may be revealing.
